If JBO really goes for around 6.3 Ill be mad we didnt get him and lock him up long term for that price.

That is way lower then what alot of people thought he'd go for.

It's impossible to say what the cap hit will be without the number of years, unless it's the same each season.

Kevin Greig- Flyers scout for the WHL and ex-player blogged for the Flyers website during and before the draft here is what he had to say about a few of the players:

Quote:
Saturday, June 27

2:32 p.m.
Today, we had two picks in the third round to start us off. We were pleasantly surprised with the guys that were there when it was our turn to pick. Simon Bertilsson is a guy that we all liked, collectively, as a staff. That's always nice, when everybody has seen a guy and liked him, so that was a feel-good pick for us.

The goaltender, Adam Morrison, is a guy that Neil Little has seen a ton of, as well as most of the staff. He didn't play a lot, but when he did he was effective. He's got great size and quickness, so he has some things that we think give him a chance moving forward to be a good goalie.

The other goalie, Nic Riopel, is a guy out of the Quebec league that Simon Nolet and Neil saw quite a bit of. He's a little bit smaller, but they feel he has some athleticism. He's coming from a winning program in the Moncton Wildcats, so he has some good things going on in that regard.

Dave Lebrecque is a guy whose body is going to grow, and he's going to get physically stronger, but he's got a lot of hockey sense and some smart, savvy stuff that we like as a forward.

At the end of the day, we were pleasantly surprised with what we had and what we were able to do. Now, it's just a case of getting them through our summer program and watching them over the course of the next few years.

There are some of our staff guys heading out of town tonight, such as myself, but the majority of the staff is sticking around and leaving tomorrow. It's a night where the group will get together, sit back, absorb what happened and of course have a few laughs. This is where the schedule eases up on us a little bit and you get to step away and enjoy some down time. Also, because of the travel we do, it can be quite strenuous throughout the year so you get to recharge your battery a little bit and get fired up to watch some hockey next year.
The rest of the blog is here http://flyers.nhl.com/team/draftblog.htm

Edit: anyone want to be the new commissioner of the IHL? http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?p...8#post20090388

Red Wings probably can't resign Hossa:

If Marian Hossa doesn't take the Red Wings' long-term offer for between $4 and $5 million a year, Detroit will trade his negotiating rights, likely by Monday, two days before free agency opens.

The Devils may be hiring Mike Keenan.

I'll take the Devils in the first round every year.

I'd be pissed if I were a Devils fan, if true.
