The main board is always good for a laugh.

Case in point, a poster comparing the Wings/Avs 90s rivalry to the Flyers/Pens current rivalry:

Quote:
Avs: Pens:
Adam Foote = Sergei Gonchar(a little older, but also a little better imo)
Peter Forsberg = Crosby
Joe Sakic = Malkin(These four centers im not gonna debate, call them a wash)
Patrick Roy = Fleury(Not as good as Roy, but is younger)
Claude Lemieux = Not sure who to compare here, Staal?

I will say I like Orpik/Scuderi better than the DefensiveDMen the Avs had

Wings:
Yzerman = Briere(edge to Yzerman, but briere is no slouch)
Lidstrom = Timonen/Coburn make a scary top two, comparable to almost anything the wings threw out
Shanahan = Carter(I actually take Carter based on time in career)
Larionov = No comparison, but Larionov was never a gamebreaker to me anymore so than Holmstrom or McCarty, and the Flyers have Hartnell/Knuble
Fedorov = Richards(push, Feds has better skill, Richards more grit)

**I didn't include pronger because I'm pointing to the skill being comparable, not will be comparable.

To me the skill here is actually almost on exaclty the same level. The only thing this rivalry is missing is the defining moments the Wings/Avs had

Yup. My favorite is the Yzerman/Briere comparison.

When I think of Fedorov, Briere comes to mind. Definitely at the top.

Very bold. But awesome. My aunt has a Petr Nedved one lol. My moms side of the family is stupid.

Wont buy a jersey unless the guy has a long term deal Briere, Gagne(been here long enough), Richards, etc apply here. Or is just God Forsberg and Pronger apply here.

Good thing I didnt take after my mom cuz id have a closet full of Brian Savage, Mike York, Mike Rathje, Kyle Calder, and Geoff Sanderson jerseys.

I waited till Ritchie signed his lifetime deal before I bought mine. Learned my lesson with Boucher.

I was sold on Boucher in 2000 lol. I will never buy a goalie jersey from Philly unless the name is hextall, Lindbergh or Parent (which I have).

I just bought a Raul Ibanez jersey and he could get traded tomorrow but there is a reason I bought it. The Phils are MY team, and Ibanez is also the name of the brand of guitar i prefer (pronounced different). I actually wont touch anything other, and I have a running joke at work about his name being a good porn name lol. Case in point the convo for the jersey down the road. Also has the HK patch Just so happens Ibanez is a beast.

Haha Boucher is one of my favorite players in the league. I have Flyers,Coyotes, and Blackhawks Boucher jerseys. I also recently bought a Hamels jersey with the Gold Trim that I figure is going to be worth something later on in life.

What do you guys think of getting a Timonen jersey? I know he'll only be around for 2-3 more years (I hope) but I like the guy a lot. Also what about Parent- to soon to tell?

In nhl09 I ALWAYS pick up Boucher as my backup in franchise mode, and if Im taking a ****** team he starts. Love Boucher, Cant forget his helmetless sprawling save on Elias in 00. I was pissed when he was traded. Good think Handzus was solid.

Im getting a Moyer one with the trim because I flat admire that guy.

Timonen - yes. he earned it.

Parent - too soon to tell only because Im not sure where the front office stands with him. I want one so bad as he is my favorite of the prospect / young guys out there

I have one Eagles jersey and thats Kevin Curtis. I'm a Rams fan and he was my favorite player when he was there. So when he signed here I was ecstatic.
