Me too. As a Rangers fan I was pretty happy when I heard the news.

The "stupid" media can only blow up whatever you give it. It can only spin material, if you allow them the access to some. If Emery even dared to point the finger at the media, there'd be three more fingers pointing right back at him. He digged his own grave on that one. He admitted himself that he absolutely loves attention. With that in mind, it's hard to see the guy as a victim. The media here salivate for a story, and he kept giving them one. Unless you're born under a rock, playing in Canada--you're aware of this.

He had burned his bridges here with his attitude problems with him not being handed the number one role back. You earn your playing time in this league, unless your name is Luongo or Brodeur, to name you a couple goalies. He even admitted this was his biggest mistake and that he handled things very poorly. There's just no "making up" after something like that.

I think he needed this reality check in seeing how easily he could lose his career in the NHL if he didn't get his act together. Also, that nothing is given, unless you have proven yourself with a career of winning and elite goaltending.

I can't believe there are people honestly believing this team was better off with the guy. Especially with how low profile so many of the players here are. It was just a toxic environment to always have to account for your teamates antics, when you're trying to concentrate on hockey. I guarentee you if you gave a lie detector to most of Emery's teamates, it would reveal that most were sick and tired of it.

Good riddens.

I like the guy so I hope he does well, just not against us. I think with the right coach and team mates, he can be ok. Besides, Carcillo is crazier than him, I think, so he won't be unrivaled in for crazy fighting guy position.

i've expected this all year actually. The fit just made too much sense, with philly needing a starting goalie but not having much money to spend, and the whole emery can fight thing (fans matter too).

I really hope he does well, because he has the talent to. I definitely think we gave up on him too early, it would have been much better to simply send him to the echl or something until he got his head on straight.

(but emery sucks)

If he signs I will bet you he plays less than half the season. In any case, how much would he sign for? Definitely nothing less than 2 million IMO.

If he is signed how will this help our cap. It should take some off of our cap because now we do not have to finish the buyout correct?

Incorrect. His buyout will stay on our cap for the next 3 years. He became a UFA once bought out.

I hope he does well even against Ottawa, except if it's in the playoffs.
I think he deserves a second chance, but to believe he should've been kept on our roster, is silly.

He's only sign a one-year contract in Philly. He'll prove he's ready again, and then he'll sign long-term for a discount here in Ottawa.

Sounds crazy, but my buddy's cousin's roommate's stepfather's administrative assistant's nanny saw Ray at The Cabin last weekend and he told her all about this plan before heading off for a line change.

As always, an important consideration is... how does this hurt the Leafs?

I find this information both comforting and erotic.

I did too. I took it out for dinner and then a long walk on the beach. Then, gently, we made sweet love under the crescent moon.

Who cares. He's part of the past.

Great so what he tears it up in the Russian league. It's not the NHL. Leclaire will tear it up this year for Ottawa.

In my books he's damaged goods going to play for a team that has been a goalie cemetary.

Good riddance. May you miss as many plane rides and get as many speeding tix in Philly.

p.s You're yellow hummer sooooo gay!

He sure put up some great numbers this year...but the other goalie put up even better numbers.

30 games
.945 save percentage
1.59 GAA
5 shutouts

Either Vitaly Koesnik should get another shot in the NHL, or that team was stacked.

It's white.

And it's "your."

And I don't think a non-living thing can be gay (happy or homosexual).
