Good move by Boston. Hopefully the terms are friendly enough to bring back Kessel as well.

Hope it's a reasonable deal for my fantasy squad. Dropped Vermette for Helm to help afford Krejci's raise.

I'd imagine it is, otherwise I don't think Boston would have signed him. Looks to me like Boston would value Kessel more; or am I off base?

When/If they do get both inked, they will shed salary. But not the blockbuster kinda of trades that come up on this board.

Well...I guess there won't be any Krejci offer sheets this summer. Good on the Bruins for locking him up.

"The contract is a three year deal at $3.5, $3.75 and $4 million per year, respectively."

Great deal for Boston.

It takes less to win championships. Good signing which opens up for a Kessel extension.

Great deal for Boston. $3.5 million for a guy who just put up 73 points, tieing for 30th in the league? Pretty great work by Chiarelli.

Low dollar number for a 70 point player with big time potential. Good for Boston. Boston had such a big year that it undoubtably helped a lot of those players numbers which may have came up during negotiations. This is actually quite in line with what 2nd contracts should be unlike say the Carter contract (which turned out fine but he definitely hadn't earned 5M up to that point).

Very good signing by the Bruins; great value, not too long.

Adding Krejci's cap hit (3.75) to Boston's money cap commitments for next year, it puts them at $51.29m with 15 players under contract (excluding the minor league players listed). It could be a tight fit, but the deal is too good to pass up imo.

Management - Player relations have completely changed over the past 3 years in Boston. This organization used to penny pinch the players... there would be hold-outs... bridges would be burned and Boston would lose talent over a few dollars.

Ouch - that makes the J. Staal deal look like even more of a fleecing.

Staal should have got 2.5/year tops.

I remember a lot of people on this board stating it would take 4.5-5.5 million at least.
