Your probably right.

I could see him getting 4.5 for 3-4 years.

If a guy like Naslund could get 4 million last year, who knows. He could get 5 million, but I think any team who could sign him for 3.5 would be getting a good deal.

I think 3.5 million is a fair deal for him, however I have a feeling he will get 4.25 million for 3-4 years.

He's had 2 solid relative injury free seasons of 25-30 goals and 55-60 points.
If he accepted the max amount this summer it would prolly be for 4.25 or 4.5 per year

That's what I see him getting as well.

I don't think he's worth a penny over 3M, but that's just me.

If he signs for under 4 mil he's taking a discount. I think teams might go as high as 5 M for him if the cap stays static.

No's he already half way through his prime.

If you look at historical stats, most NHL players have their best years between the ages of 25-30. Players peak earlier than you might think.

He's really not. His size is great but it doesn't make up for the fact that his talent doesn't match his output.

Erik Cole for one.
Samuelsson and Knuble would be good options as well.
There are others.

Samulesson is the Thrasher's best option IMO.

Isn't Knuble slow?

Samuelsson is a nice complimentary player but he's not really that physical guy they're looking for (he's a bit like Jason Williams--he can help out on an line but he's not the straw that stirs the drink and he goes through invisible stretches).

Antropov seems like a better fit to me for Atlanta. They badly need some size at Center.

I wouldn't be shocked at all to see Antropov in Atlanta, assuming their ownership hassles don't affect their FA budget.

Last year I would have said 4.5+ million from someone, but the cap situation might keep it a little bit more reasonable.

If the Rangers had the flexibility, I'd give him up to 3.5 million on a 4 year deal, 3.25 on a 5 year. I don't think he'd go for it, but given his injury history and inconsistent play, I wouldn't go any higher.

Any GM who gives Antropov $5million should be fired. He's marshmallow soft, streaky as hell, and yet to do anything in the playoffs. I love that some Bruins fans think Marco Sturm is overpaid at $3.5, yet everyone here seems comfortable with the notion that Antropov should easily get $4million or more.

Well, this is pretty much how free agency works. I'm just being realistic. But seriously, Antropov isn't marshmallow soft, and he played fine in the playoffs this year, which was his first real opportunity as a top six player.

And no, I don't think a healthy Sturm is overpaid - 3.5 is fair for his production.

Because this is where he will be. This IS his prime. He's in it right now.

He's wildly inconsistent and sucks ass in the playoffs.

I would flip a **** if the Rangers signed him for anything over 3M.
