Why do people keep insisting that LA needs goaltending help? Had Quick played for Columbus he'd be hailed as the next goalie phenom.

Good luck getting a 4 year 5.5 mill deal Jack.

Burke is offering 7th overall and kaberle for 1st or 2nd (TB or Isles). Good luck, it'll take more than that to get Hedman or Tavares.

take or leave it, you're getting an allstar D-man and a high draft pick for an unknown commodity. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. The day's of T.O over spending to bring players and picks is done . They have an astute GM in power now.

Both the Islanders and Lightning are going to spend to the floor so there is no way they take on a big contract like Kaberle's...even though it is reasonable. Colorado has cap problems so they're not taking that contract on either. The bidding war basically starts for pick #4.

How about a trade surrounding Vinny and Kabs?

All I've read is the very first sentence so far, but the Redwings INSIST that they don't negotiate until after the season... why does everyone continue to speak of a potential deal being close with Hossa. They'll wait until after the finals to even discuss it, as they've said, themselves.

I expect both the Isles and TB to leave it.

NY Post says that when Burke called Snow about 1st overall,Snow said the pick was unlikely to be moved.Snow did say he wanted to move up from 26th and wanted to know if the Leafs 1st was available.

And Lawton has already said he wants players back that make sense for the longterm,no 30 yr old d-men.

I seem to recall Franzen signing a new contract pretty recently.

Isles are about $8m under the cap floor with 17 players signed. It's not a matter of $, but Streit fills Kaberle's role for the isles.

Also, why would a team on a major rebuild with youngsters, trade for a 32 yr old?

They've stated they won't negotiate during the playoffs... very little reason for them to disguise it at all.

5.5 for JMFJ is $$$$ing hillarious. If that's what he's looking for and TB is looking to cut salary he's no longer part of the deal for Vinnie.

Burke has a tendency to surprise at the draft but I don't think it'll be as big a surprise as us leafs fans hope for.

at this point i don't care who it was.....if Kevin Lee is/was a "source" for Garrioch....then it still makes no difference to how credible this **** is.

There are 2yrs/$3m left on Martinek's contract.

Isles had Sopel and he was huge disappointment.I doubt they want him back.
