In the meantime the Swe Hockey Federation does not allow the Oct 12 AK Bars -SKA game in Malmo... Enraging the Malmo boss in the process.

Way to promote the sport

reasoning? are they afraid that the swedish fans after watching 1 KHL game from the stands will not watch SEL anymore?

Finland, of course, had no problem with games last season.

Disallowing a game in a city without a SEL team against local wishes ... good luck standing up for that.

Another controversy in Ufa as Kirill Kabanov refuses to play for the club even after signing a contract with them. Apparently Kabanov wants to leave for the Canadien junior league.

Even the richest Russians teams cannot seem to be able to hold their best Russian prospects even before they turn 19.

Considering that Malmö is an Allsvenskan side, I doubt that.

More and more it looks like Kabanov's father is another "Lindros dad".

I am just wondering about a few things with the Kabanov situation. First off I want him to come to play for the Wildcats which I am sure you know. If it was so easy to get out of the Ufa contract why is he not here already? Is he posturing for more money? Is that possible? I am trying to see the benefits of the game he is playing right now. Is he using the Q and the Cats for leverage? We see it all the time here with thr NCAA. I am not sure how the KHL and the other european leagues work. I know it sucks to have your top players leave but I can't figure this one out.
Does he really want to play in NA or is it just to get a better shorter contract from Ufa?

He just wants an out-clause. NHL does not work out, he gets stuck in the minors and does not like it - he goes back and is accepted. As oposed to: he just bolts - comes back to hear, "see ya next year, you have been suspended."

Man that sucks about Lada since the city of Togliatti is one of the better producers of talent.
