How shoud we feel?

Tampa Bay won, but New Jersey lost.

Are we for the New Jersey loss

OR

Do we because Tampa Bay won, and we lost.

Because we lost to the Isles, I think things worked in our favour. I will keep an eye on those rats from Jersey until we clinch the division. Just want to get 2nd seed, so it was good Bruins lost as well.

To me the only losses that meant anything are the following:

Philly's loss-We looked bad against a team we were trying to get a first round matchup against.

New Jersey loss-Their loss makes the Flyers magic number for a top 3 seed 5 points. Any combination of 5 points, whether it be 2 points for a Flyers win or 2 points lost by New Jersey losing, gives the Flyers the division.

Boston loss-This one is huge. Boston has a game in hand on us and could in reality be 1 point ahead for the #2 seed. That #2 seed could end up determining Home ice in the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs. Their loss allowed it to be no worse than 1 point potentially behind. That HOME and HOME against the Devils to end their year could be a 1st round matchup preview as well as determine the Flyers fortunes when it comes to seeding.

We're a .500 team without Prims in the lineup, that is unacceptable.
The conference could have been ours for the taking this year, but we blew it oh so many times. We don't even deserve it at this point. We need to seriously regain focus or it's a first round exit for us.

No body answered directly.

Cry because Tampa Bay won and we lost. First would be nice. NJ won't catch us but we were suppose to win last night.

That's the key... if we're going to start a trend of NOT doing that, we're in trouble because you're supposed to win games that you're "supposed to win." Esche let the team down last night, that's all there was too it. But here's to hoping he rebounds quickly.

Don't blame the loss totally on Esche. The Team as a whole looked like slop

LOL, yeah, he dropped an F-bomb on TV last night during his press conference. Comcast wasn't on the ball and hit the bleep button a few seconds too late. And Michael Barkan on the post game show tried to apologize. It was good humor.

tell me about it, i almost blew a nut having to watch it. Esche's reaction to it was kind of weird, he didn't seem worried. Letting goals like that in at home won't exactly wins the fans over.

We should feel concerned about the Flyers goaltending.

I have been a supporter of Esche all season....but 3 goals on 14 shots against the Loafs and the terrible goals let in yesterday against the Isles. All this with less than 3 weeks before the playoffs start.

Yeah, I'm worried about that. I don't pay attention to other teams problems at this point. The Flyers PP has malfunctioned for a while also. They better get their act together ASAP or it will be ugly in the 1st round.

15 shots on goal allowed is HARDLY slop. That's two games in recent games that esche has given up 3 and 4 goals on less than 20 shots. He HAS to shape up, PERIOD. He's a ****ing professional athlete, not a minor leaguer. He's paid to stop the puck, not to give up goals from center ice. I'm not tearing into him, simply pointing out the fact that all of a sudden he is single-handedly losing points for this team. I still have faith in him, but if this keeps up... WE... ARE... ****ED

PS - Is our powerplay on vacation!? ****!

Your right. The PP is all Esche's fault. Everyone knows the goalie has a lot to do with the PP.

P.S. When you write a dispute to something someone posts on this board, it is a good idea not to contradict yourself. :p

I think he was just adding another point about the bad game. Since when did a post script have to deal with what was said before it?

yes

if we lose out on the top seed race, but win the division, we're going to get an easier first round draw, and guaranteed home ice for two rounds (assume we stay #2).

if we lose out on the division race and play boston, toronto, or jersey when they have home ice, it's an early end to the season.

it all depends to which games are on espn...someone mentioned that after jr and primeau got waffled on espn, how bad we do when they broadcast us--every game i can think of on espn has been horrible to watch...silly, but i am one to believe in superstitions like this
