To do what? Re-sign Calder and Armstrong? Or Moulson?

Here's the reason why Reasoner is doing well in ATL:

http://thrashers.nhl.tv/team/console...TL447&fr=false

They're giving him speed and the green light to attack with John Anderson's coaching.

That, and Reasoner was voted Player of the Year by his Atlanta teammates. Kovalchuk looooooves him.

2yrs is savvy - he'll be 34 at the end of this contract. Either he slows down and takes less money to be our 4th line center or we give him a little raise if he's still playing great.

He was a bargain player who I was hoping the Avs took a look at acquiring. Scratch him off the list.

Kudos Atlanta.

Kevin Allen on Twitter said Marty got $1.1m and $1.2m

He was already making $1m!

He loooooooooves Atlanta.

"It's pretty obvious it's a team on the rise. I think in a lot of ways it's a place that you can come in and have some success. It's a great place to play, there's good support, it's a great organization, and there's a coaching staff that's going to support the players. I think obviously the weather is a nice bonus. It's a great place to raise a family and I think you can become a part of the community pretty quickly."

Perhaps Marty's been promised a long term role with the team beyond his playing years. Everybody in the organization is gaga about him.

Waddell said he's going to have players knocking on FA's doors. Expect Marty to be one of them.

He's a guy that puts forth 110% effort each and every night and I'm damn sure glad we've got him re-signed. He got less money than he deserves if you ask me.

Yea I was thinking around $1.5 million as well. Maybe a sign of things to come regarding UFA and the cap?

Theres a reason why MacTavish called him Sakic without the skating. Because Marty paid him to.

But really, great signing. Theres a reason why everybody who comes in contact with this guy loves him.

Bah! I wanted Marty Sakic back on the Oilers!

Maybe we can trade for him...
Would Gagner + Hemsky + 09 1st + 10 1st do it?

I hate feeling like I'm lowballing...

But yes, good for Marty!
