Gee, why don't we just taken down the message board.

I mean Holmgren does EVERYTHING right. Let's not question him.

Question him all you want.

If that cup is broguht back to Philadelphia, that should silence you for quite some time (3 months maybe)?

Like I said, you sir are overdue for a gimmick change. Maybe Panjabi Playboy?

And possibly more, you don't know.

I didn't think we were a legit Cup contender last season, but this trade is huge for this team. It also is going to help Emery.

I don't think you can forget that we got rid of Lupul, who is signed for 4 more years. That's huge.

What would make the Flyers a Cup contender, in your eyes? A proven goalie? Another coach (or, in other words, a system)? Just curious (no sarcasm).

Lupul and 1 1st would be fine. God forbid if something happens with injuries next season, now there is NO way to fix anything. You don't have 1st and 2nds to dig out of a hole to try and win the Cup.

It's hard for me not to get really excited about next year, I really hope we resign him though, there had been rumors floating around about him going back to STL.

I'd rather it Briere, but loosing Lupul's contract isn't bad. Oh no, Carter and Richards will be sad because their lazy friend is gone

Don't worry, I'm not 'shopping him holding the Cup. I will never do that.

But just him in a Flyers jersey is no longer a jinx...right?

yea i think thats why there was that "extra" first thrown in. We got rid a lazy player that only performed playing with the second best goal scorer in the league. He is paid a ton.

what's that line from the wolf? "let's not start sucking each other's dicks yet"

something like that. we still have some work to do. we have cote, asham, and carcillo on the same team. cote should not be taking up a roster spot. storm, you're on that.

we should be able to resign knuble to something, get rid of jones/carle, and get a third line center. i think that last part is very, very important. we do that, i'll get happy.

Andy Strickland thinks it's a lot to give up for one season. I have to believe Homer wants to extend him.

Jumping in here... I like our roster I just don't think our coach can win a Stanley Cup. Homer has Stevens on notice, if we start out slow, John will be gone quickly.

Do you end up crapping your pants because youre too worried about what could go wrong if you pulled your pants down? "What if someone walks in? What if I miss? What if I trip." (I like the argument it creates though)

Well, you can start there.

I'm not convinced we have the defensemen behind Pronger, Timonen and Coburn. As I said, something that has to play out over the off-season and regular season.

BTW, for the 'Fire Stevens' Club, he now becomes the first option when the team struggles. The Flyers can't go out and find other guys if something isn't working. They've exhausted those options.

I would hope Homer has already spoken to his agent about re-signing before giving up a boatload.

Without a doubt, if we fail to win the Cup and Holmgren can't extend him, it's a major, major failure of a deal that could really hurt us.

BUT, if we can have Pronger patrolling our blue line for the next 4 years or so, that could be very, very good.

F-Richards, Carter, Gagne, Hartnell, Powe, Briere, Giroux, Carcillo, Asham, Cote, Nodl, FA

D-Timonen, Coburn, Pronger, Parent, Carle, FA

G-Emery, FA

Committed Cap-50.899

5.901M to sign 3 players. Also keep in mind we need to sign Coburn, Powe, and Parent next offseason. I still don't see it. On paper it works, but the TB team looked pretty good on paper this year too.
