It's seem that the Flames have found their new coach.

No surprise. NJ goes through coaches faster than I go through new hobbies...

We have done pretty well against the Devils since Sutter took over.

I wonder whatever happened with Claude Julien. If he's not doing anything maybe the Devils could give him another shot and hopefully redeem himself.

This.

Sutter made that team better than it should have been. They'll miss him.

He's one of the best coaches in hockey? The man's postseason record pales to that of legendary hack of a coach Tom Renney.

The golden Lou s%^&$ the bed yet again after bending his ear for yrs he finally convinced the guy to give it a shot but the level of convincing it required should've been a huge red flag with Lou but "the best GM in sports" drops the ball yet again since the lockout and wasted 2 yrs implementing Sutters system while it's far from a lock that the next guy has the same style of play.

Especially if it's Lemaire which has been rumoured!

Those were my exact thoughts when i saw this thread.

But lets be honest. Lou will probably hire someone else just as good or find some 26 yr old equipment manager from a Saskatchewan beer league that will turn out to be the best coach since Scotty Bowman.

Good point.

This doesn't really have any impact on us. I'll wait to see the replacement before passing judgment.

Some people are speculating, along with TSN, that Brent Sutter will end up coaching for the Flames...so he can just opt out of his contract with NJD and sign on withe Flames even though he would have still been under contract with the Devils for the upcoming season? It almost seems like tampering and breech of contract...
Am I off base in thinking this or is it different for coaches than for players?

agreed...WE fared pretty well against the Devils with Sutter coaching...unfortunatley they beat pretty much everyone else....with a squad that I certainlly thought wasn't even going to make the playoffs

I hope for Lemaire. Would be wonderful to see Parise suffer under that system.

Definately makes sense for Sutter if he heads to Calgary. Got his brother over there. I believe he is also part owner of the Calgary Hitmen as well.

This is what I'm thinking will happen.
No matter the circumstance, the Devils have an uncanny ability to get up off the mat when they look to be beaten.
...Just like Hulk Hogan used to do.

So glad Renney already has a new job... Don't want to have to worry about that even as a remote possibility.
