He seems to be a better fit for NJ or MN?

Just the fact alone that Crawford is seen as an upgrade makes me want to laugh uncontrollably.

Getting rid of Tippett is stupid enough, but bringing in Crawford would be too much. I will enjoy watch Dallas crumble under him if he ends up coaching there. I can't wait till Eriksson and Brunnstrom start complaining halfway through the season.

The fact that they think Tippett was their problem is just pathetic.

So did Dallas fans There wasn't much indication that he did anything to help their power play after all the hype of his job with the Kings.

Their fans are absolutely pissed. So are Anaheim's because Burke stole their goalie consultant Allaire. All in all it was a pretty good day as a Kings fan.

DUcks fans should be pissed, and we should be very happy. Giguere, Bryzgalov and Hiller are not coincidences or overly exceptional talents. Allaire however is exceptionally exceptional.

Perhaps the Stars are doing a "Lombardi", aiming for a top 3 pick.
Seriously though, I have a hard time believing Crawford would be the right man to take over Tippetts job.

Is the firing of Tippett Nieuwendyk's first move as the GM, or was this decided before his arrival at the post?

The Kings still own the rights to Crawford. I smell, compensation; And no, I don't smell a trade (Crawford for Tippett).

they had asked for permission, so i don't know how it follows now that he has been hired.

i think that all depends upon the way you want to look at it and just how much control over the powerplay he had as head coach... or did he defer to one of the assistants?

during his tenure...

02-03 5th
03-04 18th
05-06 20th
06-07 7th
07-08 13th
08-09 27th

that kind of fluctuation speaks less of coaching and a bit more about personnel... and when Sergei Zubov plays in 56 games over two years, your powerplay will undoubtedly see problems.

I think Dean sends a basket of fruit to Dallas - thanks for taking the dead weight salary off my books.

Yep. The Kings are no longer paying Crawford. That is payment enough.

This is covered in the Tippet thread, but I will say this... Crawford will beat the Kings just to spite us.

What? 2 things jump out at me here:

The Kings CONSTANTLY lost 3rd period leads under Crawford.
The Stars are in the habit of giving up 3rd period leads to the Kings.

To them, that just equals an easy season series for the Kings to win.

If they Stars couldn't keep a lead against the Kings before, how could they now when Crawford won't let anyone play defense?

I'll take the high road and refrain from saying anything nasty about Marc...except....oh James Neal. The days you have in store for you, young man.
