What Would You Ask LA Kings General Manager Dean Lombardi?

If you would like to suggest a question to ask Dean Lombardi in an interview I have scheduled with him, head on over to my blog and post it as a comment...probably won't get it otherwise.

Thanks.

I would ask if having Marc Crawford as head coach ever hindered him in signing free agents due to his authoritarian coaching style.

What are his plans for Oscar Moller and Teddy Purcell? Top six or not?

What do you think of Jack Johnson and him possibly leaving?
And also
What are you currently planning on doing with Alexander Frolov?

1) Where, exactly, are we in the rebuild?

2) Do you consider this year 4 of your 5 year plan to make us a Stanley cup contender, and if not why not? and

3) When you took this job you told the fans that you wouldn't have accepted the job if there were any limitations placed upon your decision making. But then you put up no battle when a 40MM dollar internal cap imposed upon you by ownership. Isn't there an inconsistency between your statements and the reality of the situation?

When the time comes, would you like to see the Kings' blueline modeled more on the Red Wings, the Bruins, or the Ducks?

If you could choose, would you want Drew Doughty, Anze Kopitar, or Jonathan Bernier to be the franchise player?

1) I heard rumors that Preissing will not be with us next season... PLEASE tell me that there's some truth in this...

2) I believe the team is almost where it is to compete for the Cup itself...but the question is which players do you believe we can pick up to make this an even stronger reality???

3) How fast an you get out of town if news comes out that you resigned Gauthier???

Will you step down if the team doesn't make any progress next year, barring injuries.

How many more years do you think Kings fans will get more excited about draft day than the playoffs starting.

Mr. Lombardi,

Is it frustrating managing a team whose fanbase can't follow directions?

I am sure most of us are not serious about the questions we are posing here.

Mr. Lombardi,

Now that you have Justin Williams, assuming you do not want to acquire any other current Hurricane player, should I care what people in North Carolina think about the Kings?

sorry, that was low

Are the real reasons that Armstrong's negotiations have gone south is that he asked for a new ping pong table???

Do you think Frolov looks good in red? Or would you prefer him in blue?

I have a series of questions that I feel most fans would like to see addressed by Lombardi:

What do you think the Kings need to take the next step to become a serious playoff contender?

Are you comfortable with Quick and Ersberg as the tandem in net to start the 09-10 season?

Where do you think Jack Johnson is at in his development? Same question in regards to Boyle, Purcell, Drewiske and Moulson.

Which players from Manchester do you think will be challenging for a roster spot in camp?

How close is Thomas Hickey to being NHL ready? He seemed to perform quite well in his brief time in the AHL.

What are your impressions of Evander Kane and Brayden Schenn?

How many holes do you see that need to be filled?

Thoughts on how Loktionov and Voinov performed in their first season of North American hockey.

How close do you think Bernier is to being NHL ready?

Is the scouting staff where you want it to be? What changes have you noticed in the war room from the first draft up until now?

Mr. Lombardi,

What do you think of Trevor Lewis' progression in Manchester and Los Angeles last season?
