Kurrilino....this is the second time you have made this mistake....the draft is before the free agent period is open....so you cannot base your draft pick on who does and does not sign with you.

1) Keep 5th pick and select best forward available unless a first rate centerman can be acquired using same + defensive prospect or JJ.

2) Enter UFA market for scoring left winger. No cost but dollars, and I don't care what uncle Phil has to spend or losses, ever!

3) Re-sign Frolov and make him a King for life.

4) Find new offensive coach, and within one year, promote Harpo to head coach.

5) Place in oven one to two years, and serve when HOT!!!

Couldn't have said it any better myself.

Particularly #3. I want at the least a 6 year contract for Fro.

You all know how I feel about #4. Sooner the better. Harpo will take us to new heights.

I'd love it, but I don't think it'll happen with Handzus and Stoll here. He's arguably the best defensive 3rd line center in the league; someone ought to pay a lot for that.

I'm just curious, but why? Do you want a long contract just because you want Frolov here for a long time, or do you specifically want to see an extremely long contract? In other words, would a nine-year contract be far better than three three-year contracts?

i assume the Lombardi talks to him before that period starts.
But indeed it's not to safe to base your pick on that.

I was always for MPS and would be happy to close our left wing hole.

Interesting. I want Frolov here for a long time, so if that's 3 3-year contracts, I guess that's just as well.

I would prefer 9 though so I don't have to worry about whether Frolov is going to resign or not every 3 years, and to keep his cap hit down. He deserves and I want to see him make 5-6 million over the next few seasons. However, a 5-6 mill cap hit is not really too agreeable for me, considering I think this team is best served if Frolov is our primary secondary scoring threat. Ideally I want to see something in the 7-9 year range, with a cap hit around 4.2-4.5.

I think Frolov deserves it, is important to the team, and has been loyal and it will go a long way towards building that 'hoceky culture' in the locker room for the organization to reward Frolov, the longest tenured King (or is it Army?), with a long term commitment.

My trade/demotion lists (unless a better deal is made to make someone else expendable)...

Boyle (I feel that he does need a change of scenery... For that reason alone he's on the list...)
Murray (I lost track of him...was he signed???)
Preissing (He's better off the roster entirely...)
Richardson (Might be first call up if someone goes down...)
Zatkoff (To get under the SPC limits...otherwise I'd keep him)
Zeiler (Get rid of him to protect the glass at Staples Center...)
draft picks (only if the moment warrants it)

Roster moves

Draft Kane (alternate MPS)
Tatar in the second
(Every draft pick beyond here is up for grabs...and BPA when picked...)
Johnson to left wing to open spots for Beauchemin and Hickey on D
Sign Gaborik

Frolov - Kopitar - Williams
Gaborik - Stoll - Brown
Purcell - Handzus - Simmonds
Johnson - Lewis - Moller

Armstrong/Harrold/Drewiske (healthy scratch)

Doughty - Greene
Beauchemin - Quincey
Hickey - O Donnell

Quick - Ersberg

I think its way too premature to say the dust has settled on the Pronger Trade..Considering all the commotion made yesterday and all the "experts" claiming its all but done.. something is going on...I pray that the original trade does not happen, but i think something will..

Will that being said, someone mentioned Bobby Ryan Possibly being involved.. i know it sounds unrealistic, but how amazing would he be on our team? Exactly what we need..

Also, if we sign Gaborik... im playing him with Kopitar..I think they would elevate each others game to new heights.. it would be something special to watch

Then, let's trade Nandzus at $4,000,000 let's do it. Then we can sign Paulsson, Moen.

Our 3rd line will look like
Moen-Paulsson-Simmonds

Trade the 5th to Toronto for the 7th and Ponikarovsky. Pushing 6'5" can skate and plays both ends, 23 goals 38 assists for 61 pts. Did I mention he is a left wing. With the 7th take BPA. I like Cowen there. I see it going 4th Kane, 5th Schenn, 6th MPS, 7th-Cowen or the other 2 dman, DL already stated he is looking at Cowen. This works if JJ is gone.

Trade JJ + Stoll to Penguins for J Staal.

Resign Frolov 6 years

Go after Gaborik 5-6 years (If we cant land a top flight sniper, move Fro and Poni up and Moller up to 3rd line LW or Purcell.)
Go after Chris Niel 3 years.
Go after Scuderi. 3 years.

Then we got something like this.

Gaborik Kopitar Williams
Frolov Staal Brown
Poni Handzus Simmonds
Neil Boyle\Lewis Moller

Doughty Scuderi
Green Quincy
Odee Hickey

Quick
Ersberg

I like it.

Anyone think Purcell could be part of a big trade? There seems to be a high opinion of him, especially here, but he doesn't seem that spectacular to me. Not that that's a bad thing, but he seems kind of a redundant player.

Ya, I think Boyle is in the same boat as is Moller. Depends on what constitutes big trade, Do ya get rid of him for a second, or add him to package deal. But yes definitely, Trade bait. I'm still still not sure about Purcell, sometimes he looks good and other times I wondered why Azevado didn't get called up.

Sign Komisarek. Right.

Did anyone bother watching the habs this year?

he was ****ing brutal when his team needed him the most. he was exposed for what he is constantly, SLOW AND A POOR READER.

Just because you can hit does not make you a superstar on defense, it just makes you overpaid, ask Celine Dion Phaneuf.

His defensive game declined significantly, and he's never broken 20pts in a season, so you can rely on him for zero offense whatsoever.

for ****s sake...Komisarek for 4.5million...let some other idiot make that deal.
