Zholtok

I'm just wondering, how is Zholtok fitting in your system.. I've heard, that coach is not giving him an awful lot of playtime.. Why is it so??

zholtok is only slightly better than arkhipov IMO...and that's not too much of a compliment.

I'd take Arkhipov in a heart beat.

Zholtok doesnt get much ice time because his play is very unimpressive. Why we continue to sit Arkhipov and let Zholtok skate is a mystery to me.

So, what do you think, will Zholtok stay in your team for next season??

Well, we will see after the playoffs (if we make them). Thus far, he has sucked as a Predator......which has really surprised me. I thought he would fit in nicely

He has Oleg Petrov syndrome! hehehe

It was thought that Petrov would fit nicely into the Preds' system, but he sucked too....

I think the only reason Zholtok has been getting the nod over Arkhipov is due to his faceoff success. I would suspect we see Zholtok scratched soon if he continues to play just so-so...

Zohltok seems to be as advertised. I think if you look over the course of his career, you'll find that his play in Nashville is consistent with his play over the last 8-9 seasons. He is, at best, a 3rd or 4th line center. I will say that his stick work along the boards is above average. He seems to have a knack for getting the puck out of scrums.
In a 4th line role, I think he is better then Arkhipov. Legwand is working out on the 2nd line, so that leaves Denis out of the mix for the time being. Would you rather have Denis shooting pucks into defenders shin pads, or Zohltok working the puck out of tight situations on the boards?

Arkhipov is just as good on the defensive end as Zholtok from what I've seen and if he gets hot he can be a force offensively, though we don't see much of that.
