its not a protest on trading Briere, just on people saying that he is not worth his contract. He is wort 6.5 as a PPG player and a solid playoff guy. But when he is on the 3rd line making that much and when it is clear that we need to upgrade the D, he needs to be traded. And homer has already said they are going after a top flight Dman...Exciting!

I would LOVE to be able to keep Briere and all the rest of our high priced players but in the cap world we know we can't keep them all. I think that MOST Flyers fans woul be happy to be rid of Brieres salary but not the player. He has the highest cap hit on the team and we have 3 very good centers in Carter, Richards and Giroux making Briere (who actually WAS moved out to wing) the most expendable.

i dont see a team giving up a first rounder for jay to negotiate in this salery cap era picks mean an awful lot. maybe if the team is looking to shed salery like philly to give up briere or lupal. it will probly be a 3-4 round pick or a earlier conditional pick if he signs a deal probly in 2010.
