The article says $4.5 million a year, not total.

Who knows, maybe he devotes his spare time to finding dirt on the GM of the team he wants to play for.

I hear Jack's Dad is doing Rob's negotiating now.

Does anyone else feel like the abused spouse whose husband left her for another woman who thought she could "change" him, only to see her over a year later at the Trader Joe's with a black eye? Me neither.

Does this mean we finally begin to shake the stigma of, with all matters Rob Blake, being the dumbest team in the league?

Seriously though, can you say what the **** kind of signing is that? "Hit me again baby!"

Sweet. That's at least 6 more home games I can wear my "Rob Blake Sellouts" jersey to.

I think he meant that as in the Sharks are going to have a hard time getting an impact player during free agency because of the amount of money they're going to be paying Rob Blake.. he's only taking 500,000 less than he was last year..

Blake sucks ****. I was in Huntington Beach today with my buddy who's friends with the owner of Club Sushi in Hermosa. Blake raised the guys rent from 18K a month to 30K a month, and we know Blake isn't in any dire need for cash. He's just a ****** human being.

I don't like Blake, but...

It's probably a decent signing for the Sharks. RB is still capable of playing at a high level.

Agreed. He played well and signed for less than he played for last season. As long as he stays (gets) in shape he'll be fine in SJ. Like every other NHL player Rob Blake does better on teams that win. SJ has to do something else to shake up that team though, somebody has to be moved with a good plyer in return, have no idea what else their going to do this offseason. Will SJ swoop in out of nowhere and sign Hossa/Havlat/Gaborik? They certainly need something.

Rob Blake's 16 goals were equal to Quincey, Doughty and Jack Johnson COMBINED.

Good for him. He can still score goals when he cares.

Rob Blake didn't give a flying **** about this team when he was here. I'll take the effort of Quincey, Doughty, and Jack Johnson over the half-assed excuse for hockey that Rob Blake demonstrated while in a kings uniform.

I'll politely tell him where he can put those 16 goals of his....

are you really comparing a defenseman on one of the deadliest teams with the puck to defensemen on a team that got shut out 11 times?

You seem to be confusing Rob Blake with Dan Boyle. Blake had 10 goals, and his goals per game average was lower than JJ's GPG.

Still an over payment.

$3,500,000 probably is his fair market value.

Is there any other source than this? The Bleacher report doesn't really seem all that credible to me.
