BTW, Staios looks gassed again tonight. Man I wish they'd give him Sun night off or something. I don't know, maybe it's an injury or something.

Either way he's far from well
On the boxscore on USAToday, Cross is listed being out with the flu.

What was someone saying about the Oilers needing a pure goal scorer?
Mr. Nedved did a pretty good impression of one there.

late goals are the best, well if your team scores them that is...I wonder why fergusen would step in and not let bergeron fight cowan... i know bergy is offensively impressive but he needs to lay a beating on a midweight like cowan to let everyone know he still means business when it comes to it.

Brutal second period by the Oil

You had the 2nd period vs the Stars and then the overall collapse. Then 40 of 60 min in LA were brutal and now the middle frame tonight. A few of us are worrying about what happens when or if the worm turns and the Oilers look to be waining right now. It's as much mental as it is phyiscal and it's hard to walk the edge every single game.

Anyway hopefully we escape until Tues and then the big atmosphere of that game pushes us through.

As for the 2nd, nice play by Fergy and it's alright that Nedved scored. He's looked a little sluggish lately

It's too bad Nedved doesn't have a backhand..

Staios still looks like he's running on fumes out there; the guy needs a break. And get him off the powerplay!

Here's a proposal. Why not use Horcoff on the point? MacT used Marchant last year because he trusted him back there to take care of his own end should the need arise. I'm sure we all understand the fact that MacT trusts Horcoff a heck of a lot now as well. Couldn't that work?

That's an interesting idea.. I'd personally rather see York back there once he is fully healthy though. For now, Horcoff could be a decent alternative.. he doesn't have a great shot but he's not bad at moving the puck on the powerplay and he actually seems pretty relaxed out there on the PP.

I was thinking York but I didn't want to put him into that kind of situation with his injury being what it is this year. But yeah. It seems Horcoff really likes the extra room on the powerplay... I though it could be a somewhat good solution.

Game over. Geez, for the most part the Kings were flat out outplayed this game.

Without Cechmanek and this game is a blowout considering the chances the Oilers got on him. Oh well, officially the Oilers are in the playoffs for the time being.
