Bit lazy for my taste, I'd be more comfortable with Schenn.
Well then Dallas will be very glad he falls to 8.

If he falls that far, i hope one of the two teams i root for will grab him...the guy has HUGE potential. I initially was skeptical about him when someone compared him to Mike Green, but i believe it might be true...

I could see Cowen falling out of the top 10 but Kulikov no way he slips past 10th.

Olsen will likely go top-20. He was Canada's best defenceman at the U18s, and plays a pro-style game. He got less exposure early because he was playing in the AJHL, but he's a hard-rock defenceman with surprisingly good offensive abilities. He'll only be in college a couple of years before making some NHL team's top 6.

The connection between the Rangers and Shore is based on the Chillwack Bruins owning Shore's junior rights. Glen Sather is one of the partners of the Bruins along with Brian Burke. Chilliwack is attempting to lure Shore to the WHL rather than play in Denver.

The Rangers haven't based their draft picks on Sather's connections. They didn't select Oscar Moller in 2007 when he played for Sather's junior team and didn't select Drew Stafford in 2004. Drew's uncle Barrie worked for Sather in Edmonton.

They should have taken Moller than the goalie from Quebec.

You don't realize how poor this season was for him. He was horrible against CB in the playoffs. Lost in the headlights.

He had a terrible playoffs, yes. But his season was quite solid. When I talked to (now former) assistant coach Jim Midgley about him, he pointed to Despres' strong play as being a big reason why Saint John was comfortable moving Grant and Amyot.
I suspect by the time the playoffs rolled around, Despres was feeling the strain of all the extra minutes and additional responsibilities he was tasked with.

Decent effort, although IMO Palmieri and Leddy will be picked in the first round.

I have a feeling Carter Ashton will be a Flame if he is available @ 20th... the kid is ranked 12th amongst NA skaters... I can't see 18-20 North American skaters going ahead of him

I'd be more than happy for Edmonton to get Ellis.

Meh, not a big fan of Olsen, probably because I know nothing about him. I'd rather us take a look at Kreider or de Haan if they're there. It should be a BPA pick for the Flyers, and I don't think Olsen is that.

Lazy? Have you seen Paajarvi play? You can criticize his defensive game and his finishing to an extent all you want, but to call him lazy is completely false and suggest you have not seen him play very many times.

But id rather trade up for Schenn.. we need a big.. C .. Brayden is the perfect choice .. a model Burke type player and obviously family ties don't hurt... Burke's mentioned he thinks that the younger brother eventually ends up being the better player.. and he knows a player like Brayden wont be there at 7th... we have some assets (rather not trade our 2nds) to moves... Im all in Schenn wont be there at 7th..
Too late for that

I don't see how Pajarvii-Svenson is gonna go after the 5th. I'd like Schenn for the Sens if that's possible...SIGH!

I recall drafting Hossa in my pool in his draft year many yrs ago, MPS reminds me of him as many have mentioned here. Hossa was criticized for poor defense. The scoring touch issue is a bit overblown.

someone should have proof-read this, but it's pretty in depth for a mock-draft

Good list, though I was surprised at OEL at #6 but it seems almost every year there's a surprise top 10 pick

I'd say we need a center with size far more than another defensive defenseman prospect. Or we could trade down into the 2nd round and get one of the top goalie prospects and then go BPA with the extra pick.
