My view, since I am a Detroiter, is Zetterberg. He brings it like no other man can defensively and can lead the team offensively. He also shows up big time in the playoffs, even against top-notch defenses.
EDIT: This is not a "who do you want on your team", this is a "who is better". I would rather want Crosby on my team due to his age but I want to know who you think is flat-out better at the moment.
Interesting perspective. I respect your opinion, however, can I ask why Crosby was shut down so well in the Finals?
I think it was because he was double if not triple teamed whenever he went into your zone, nothing against Z, I would kill to have him on the kings, but I would give my left nut for Sid in a kings jersey haha
Not to mention your defense played a big role in keeping Sid from scoring

Look who he plays with. He has to create literally everything for that line. With him and Malkin on the same team, they will always have to be great with mediocre at best line mates. Look who most of the other stars on the league play with on their line.
Having two dominating centers is great for the team. However, they also have to sacrifice ever having great line mates that would truly boost their numbers to what they could be. But i'm pretty sure they both value winning over personal glory.
Crosby is better than Zetterberg, who is constanly flanked by another great player.
Head to head, Zetterberg beat Crosby in the finals, but it was Malkin that dominated the finals for the Pens, hence the Conn Smythe, if anything, I would say Malkin is the best player in the world right now, not Crosby.
crosby is a fair amount better IMO. His defensive game gets underrated around these parts . . hes no Z, but his offensive ability more than makes up for it
He is, but he's also easily inferior offensively and Crosby is not a liability.
Zetterberg arguably had a better supporting cast and linemates this year, and he was a 70 point player. When Crosby was playing with Colby Armstrong he was a 100 point player, at 18 years of age no less.
I don't think I've ever felt so pissed as I do now about people picking a certain option in a poll. I may disagree with the result, but hardly does just looking at the results without comments make me angry (I can think of maybe 3 or 4 over the last few years). The reason being it's not just one or two biased fans choosing somebody just because they think it's an unfair poll or they're some crazy homer, but there is somehow a decent margin of people picking Zetterberg here. It's absolutely ridiculous. People are too quick to say "and it isn't even close" often times in these threads, but this time it really isn't even close. There are maybe two forwards in all of hockey who might possibly be better, and Zetterberg is in no way one of those two.

Who cares what Sid does against others? Particularly in the East.
Put them head to head with equal linemates and defensive pairings behind them and Z will best Crosby pretty much every time.

That's pretty funny. I guess we'll never know, because Henrik will always be playing with far better linemates. Crosby is forced to do so much more because of this very reason. His linemates aren't very good. To put up numbers like he does is remarkable. He's better than Zetterberg in every way other than D. And he'll even start to close that gap as his career goes along.
I think it's funny that we can't see who voted for whom and verify that the 12 current votes for Zetts all came from Detroit homers/blatant Crosby haters. This is a "who is the best" poll, and it really isn't a noggin scratcher.
