Verizon Wireless versus Cablevision

I just got Verizon Wireless Fios. Internet TV and Phone for 86.99 a month. Plus $30 off for six months. One year agreement gauranteed for two years if you wish.

I hope they let me into the garden.

I love Verizon but I just hate that there's no MSG HD

I would get Fios in a second if they had MSG.

I am content with Cablevision and could not switch to Verizon because of the no MSG-HD issue... I can't watch games in SD anymore.

Well I have no HD TV in my house anyway. It does have all the sports channels. But from what I was told 250 channels in HD. I am suprised no MSG in HD.

Jimmy Dolan won't let them have it. And it makes sense as it's the only thing keeping me, and a lot of people I would imagine, from switching. I hate that guy.

Bettman is fighting like hell for it though. On the NHL Hour he said that it should be available by next season.

We switched to Verizon for a while. I couldn't stand no MSG HD. Then Cablevision called and said that they'd give us a cheaper price guaranteed for two years, pay the termination fee, and a gave a free DVR for a year. Now I'm back on Cablevision. I'm not complaining.

It's funny though, instead of giving the cheaper price after people leave, why not do it to begin with? We threatened to leave and Cablevision said they couldn't do anything for us. Then we left, now Cablevision has to pay Verizon $200 to get us back instead of just giving us a discount to begin with. Great business sense.

How could he possibly enforce that?

You are correct, Bettman has zero authority in this matter. It is up to the FCC, and recently Verizon requested the FCC to intervene.

Here's an article that sheds some more light on the situation:
