The Ultimate Warrior.
This, I might add, is also cap compliant.
LOL!! Ultimate Warrior...I love it!! Although I rather him be a forward so he can run around killing people!!

But I'm not sure how that is cap wise... might be over. don't know. too lazy to do the math.
If Bouwmeester is here, Carle needs to be moved. In the cap era you cant afford to have a Jones or Carle on your third pairing, they are two expensive....Especially if you have those two top pairings, who the heck cares who is on the 3rd!!
Send Jones to the minors for a year, Trade Lupul and whatever to the Wild for Harding, trade Carle to anyone interested for a low pick and an AHL player or decent prospect. Move Briere next offseason, replace him with Giroux, and fill Giroux's spot with JVR.
Some years ago, when Lindros played for the Rangers, I caught a New York/Los Angeles game at the Staples Center. Malhotra scored a goal that can only be described as Lemieux-versus-Minnesota-Stanley-Cup-Finals-esque. For a guy who never had eye popping scoring numbers, it was quite impressive.
He's a solid defensive forward; I noticed he was used on the top two lines quite a bit in Columbus this year, as well. Malhotra's definitely better suited in a checking role.

Definitely agree...And He has put up some good numbers with them over the last few years. I think on a better team he is consistently a very good, 3rd line shut-down center that will give you 40 points. Plus he is great on faceoffs. Exactly what this team needs in my opinion. He would fill that Primeau role that we have been missing since he and Handzus left.
Malhotra makes a TON of sense. Very responsible defensively, basically a 60% faceoff guy which is huge, and he is pretty capable offensively. They need to seriously pursue him.
Word is the Jackets don't plan on signing him prior to July 1, so he'll be a UFA.
If they dump Jones and Carle they have like 10 million to go around between Mike Knuble, another RW, two 3rd paring D-men and a back-up goalie. Atleast by my math.
I don't think Carle is a great third line guy at over $3,000,000. I don't think Jones is a good 3rd line gut at $3 (I don't think he can get his hip back).
No, I don't think they can afford it. Carle can be traded for something of value, in which case Jones makes the third line at 2.75, hardly much better, but I don't think Holmgren will be rid of him.
Carle will be traded instead of Jones because Jones is a UFA after next year and they need that money. I would like them to sign a guy like Greg Zanon instead of Alberts and then sign an Alberts type defenseman as the 7th man. Here, assuming Knuble signs for $2M and Alberts signs for $1.5M, there is about $800K to sign that extra defenseman.
I really like this team. Those upset about the bottom six should consider the bottom six of the Penguins. More importantly, the Flyers have two #1 defensemen. In the playoffs, they will have one of Timonen or Pronger on the ice almost the entire time.
Yes, we could use another power forward but we would have to trade what for him?
We do not have 1st round picks no more. SOme freak 3 way deal that envolves Carle, SJ Clowe and some other team?
I think he is a RFA, we offer him like 3mill we don't have to give up a 1st...right?
we have like 3.4 in cap space after the pronger deal and Emery's salary. Forget Powe, he was only there cause Kalinski got hurt and took his spot.
