HFBoards TOP 40 ranking: Goaltenders #4

Now that the season and playoffs are over, I thought we'd do an "official HF ranking" for each position.

So basically, who (of the following) is the best goalie in the NHL? ie. which goalie would you want on your team for next year only?

Vote away.

Ranking for far:

1. Luongo
2. Brodeur
3. Lundqvist

I am going with Kipper here. New coaching staff and a couple of forseen personnel changes, and I think Kipper has something to prove.

Tim Thomas was the best goalie in the regular season and statistically he was arguably the best in the playoffs. It is Thomas here and not even close. He shouldn't have been out of the top 3.

How can you ignore the season Thomas had? He was 1st in GAA in both the regular season and playoffs. He was 1st in SV% in the regular season and 2nd in SV% in the playoffs.

My top 5 goalies as of right now

1. Luongo - Best goalie
2. Thomas - Best Season
3. Brodeur
4. Lundqvist
5. Mason

IMO it's Thomas, Giguere needs to be added if this poll is for who people want next year.

So Thomas has one good season and he vaults from around 20-25 position to the 2nd best goalie in the league.Only on this board can one season take an old ,average goalie and turn him into one of the best goalies in the league.

One good season what have you been smoking. Thomas has been great since he come into the league. Any goalie who finishes 1st in GAA and SV% should be in the top 3. Thomas has to be the most under rated goalie in the league next to Jonas Hiller.

Ha Ha I just noticed your a Habs fan. No wonder why you don't like Thomas.

...Bruins homer? Backstrom is better than Thomas.

This real joke is the lack of votes that the Stanley Cup winning goalie is receiving.

Im not sure about that Backstrom thing... Thomas is abit better imo.

You think Fleury is top 5 goalie now when he won the cup? Well then you are wrong.

Anyways, i went with Kipper. I still think he is top 5 goalie even he has had couple bad seasons statistically.
