Question about the Tape 2 Tape product

What is the material of the surface used in those tape 2 tape products? I've seen them go for like $200, but I am low on funds and I just assume make one myself. I work on stickhandling all the time but I would like to try something closer to ice (smoother, faster puck surfaces) situations as I've had no one to practice with.

Any info would greatly be appreciated. You all are always a great help.

There are several things that will work. Basically the easiest thing is a countertop laminate. Basically, smooth plastics are a good bet. You could also build one just to sit on the floor if you have smooth concrete in your garage or basement.

Thanks! I figured it was something along those lines, I'm going to stop by a home improvement store today or tomorrow and get some. I should probably try out some other plastics too.

I read the tape 2 tape manual and it said to spray a light coating of a
silicone lubricant on the passing surface and to apply a piece of clear tape on the bottom of hockey sticks to prevent the surface from getting marred. This is a work in progress haha.
