Yeah, because ALL of your team's second rounders make the NHL, right?

Colliton was a marginal prospect, but he never got a chance in the NHL. I still think he could have been a decent 3rd/4th line center.

i'm not a fan of any hockey club...

I'm from Montréal, but the fans here are weak, it's the reason that i'm not a fan of Habs. I will work for sports medias after I complete my university grad and i will have to be neutral, so it's better to not be a fan of any hockey club.

It wasn't a critic to NYI management, only a fact...

Shows to me that you aren't capable of critical thinking when judging a whole fanbase with one attribute. Good luck in your career.

Funny I always thought Hab fans were passionate ,maybe to passionate at times. Anyway good luck with a career in sports medias. Rule number 1 when it comes to sports medias. Don't judge a entire fanbase based on what you think. You will find yourself collecting unemployment quite quickly.

Yeah good luck being a sports broadcaster, not like I haven't heard a million people say that before. Oh and the whole "neutral" thing went on the window when you stereotyped an entire fan base.

Better shoot for the stars and hope for the moon.
In your case the moon is the arena janitor.

ok...I put every one in the same basket ... but you understand that a big majority of the Montreal fans think that they are expert and only know the Montreal Canadiens players...That majority would like to act like the GM and it's annoying.

Unfortunately, *none* of our team's 3 second rounders amounted to more than a hill of beans (and colliton was the hill of beans). All we got out of that draft is a 4th dman (Bruno Gervais) and 1/3 the cost of a month of Ryan Smyth.

It was a historically weak job by the Islanders in a very strong draft. The Islanders, Rangers, Oilers, and Kings were the only teams who didn't nab high quality players in that draft. Thank god the Milbury days are over. We can only hope this year, which looms even larger, goes much much better.

Cheers,

Dan-o

That's really out of context. It was a weak draft (barring Crosby, of course). If the Isles had Mark Staal, Azne Kopitar, or Devin Setoguchi available at their pick, there would be reason to complain. Isles would've picked Staal if he was available. Otherwise you can class the Isles with everyone else who passed on Paul Stastny.

Cheers,

Dan-o

There were some other good players available that went in the 1st round, such as TJ Oshie and Andrew Cogliano.

You really can't fault the Islanders for passing on Oshie and Cogliano. Eight teams also passed on them. At that time, O'Marra was no worse than those two.

You mean 2005? One of the deepest drafts in history?

Right.. I mean that's nothing like passing up Zach Parise, Ryan Getzlaf, and Mark Stuart. And two shots at O'Sullivan in the 2nd round. And obviously, all you really have to say is Zach Parise. It wasn't exactly rocket science. This stuff was 2nd guessed the *day* of the draft.

Cheers,

Dan-o
