I thought that any rumor had to have a link to a credible source .
Since when did Sensbuzz become a credible source .
This is just some blogger dreaming up ideals. This thread should be shut down till it gets a credible source as per the forum rules.

To me, if you consider the future, there is giant gulf that separates Ehrhoff and Vlasic.

I don't think STL is in it because of a self imposed cap. I do think STL does evently trade for a diffrence maker. I just don't think it will be Heatley.

Sensbuzz is pretty flaky, and it seems like every rumor has a Senators bias to it. I really wouldn't take anything read there that seriously, but I should mention that the only thing that might give credence to this guy being somewhat connected is this:

http://sensbuzz.blogspot.com/2009/05...d-in-dany.html

And posted before this news broke, so make of that what you will. I'm not believing any of it though.

One more year of Luongo is a valuable thing for Vancouver, for sure.

The extension years at the $8M+ cap hit he'll need to be paid is...an open question.

Then this is their chance to get real value.

Lecaire and Heatley

for Luongo + prospect

I'd assume the reasoning is that Johnson and Frolov are both in their contract year. It sounds like Johnson doesn't want to resign and Heatley would be a huge upgrade from Frolov on the left side. Adding the 5th without getting the 9th back does seem kind of much though.

Until we play Pittsburgh and Heatley score his average of 8 goals per game with Crosby.

If Ottawa is going to get anything out of San Jose, it's going to be some package of Milan Michalek, Jonathan Cheechoo, Ryane Clowe, and Douglas Murray to go with some assortment of picks and/or prospects.

Roster-wise, it would be absolutely stupid for Doug Wilson to trade either of those two defensemen in this scenario because Ottawa is not trading a top four back and the Sharks don't have a top four ready to step in. Plus, there's no top four in the free agent market that could be had for a ridiculously low amount that the Sharks would be able to offer due to the cap.
Wait a second here...your post makes me think that San Jose is trading the 50 goal scorer...oh yeah they aren't so why are you acting like Doug Wilson is in control?

You have to give to get, it may not be "prefered" that you trade Ehrhoff or Vlasic but you have to remember here that there are two teams involved here, and one is trading a 50 goal scorer and isn't going to be the one who's praying to get a deal done.

Murray would have to have a stroke to trade Heatley for Milan Michalek, Ryane Clowe, Jonathon Cheechoo and Douglas Murray. We lose cap space and don't improve the backend at all. It is a pure-San Jose oriented trade.

What about this trade?

Dany Heatley and Brian Lee for Milan Michalek, Jonathon Cheechoo, Christian Ehrhoff/M.E Vlasic and a non-first round-draft pick?

Same deal as above except Cheechoo is added on the San Jose side and Lee is added from the Ottawa side. Lee is a young, top 4 defenseman, who has a bright future ahead of him. I don't by any means want to trade him but San Jose's needs play a big part in getting a deal done on both sides.

I think you mixed up "Foligno" and "Cogliano" to make "Fogliano."
At least you didn't mix up "Gagner" and "Foligno".
Can you imagine?
Fisher passes to Shannon, Shannon shoots, and pouncing on the rebound is Fagner, or as his teammates call him "Faggie..."

i think of all the deals listed, the ottawa-sanjose deal is probably the most fair. they get a very good top6 forward back and a top 4 dman back as well.

sanjose gets a consistent 50/50 guy who will, hopefully, push them past the first couple of rounds on the playoffs

well at least he's willing to come to Vancouver like OMG, HE WOULDNT MIND PLAYING FOR VANCOUVER!!!!!!!!. The team that plays that boring trapping style, ROFL.

btw, vancouver is not going to offer anything. There are UFA's he can get for free, without trading assets then trading Assets, plus we are uncertain that he might ask for a trade out of VAncouver down the road, that will **** us over pretty good.

20. Calgary Flames select Olivier Roy
Kiprusoff is getting worn down and the Flames have no true goaltending prospect, so they take Roy(no relation to Saint Patrick), who has great reflexes and is a true leader in goal. Think of another Marc-Andre Fleury.
From http://sensbuzz.blogspot.com/ 's mock-draft...

....clearly knows nothing about the Flames system so why bother opening his mouth?

Another laughable deal. Kunitz is a 2nd liner at best, Talbot is a great 3rd liner but we don't need anymore of those. Alex Grant doesn't matter **** in a Heatley trade and a late-first doesn't have the value to even this mess out.

no need being angry. The first offers are always low ones, and thats were the other partner will start. Its like that. When you buy a house, you want to pay as little as possible.

Right now GM's want to buy heatly, so they offer as little as possible and go from there. Its a smart thing.

LA's deal is by far the best. Good fit, too. Frolov is on the verge of being great. There's the 5th overall pick, who'll turn out to be a star. Then Johnson and another pick? SOLD! Now they just got to keep Frolov around for more than a year...

St. Louis needs to amp up their offer. Jackman is on the block for a reason. Berlund will be okay, but not awesome. Palushaj will be alright. Not enough for an elite guy like Heatley.

The Sharks are hampered by Marleau's NTC. He doesn't want to waive it to go to Ottawa. Vlasic is good, but not great. Armstrong is a career minor-leaguer. And Michalek is a wee bit soft. They need to add more.

The Oliers offering Penner is laughable. Do they even want to make a deal? Gilbert is alright, but no star in the making. Nash and the 10th overall will also be alright. Nothing great here at all. And i thought they 'had the assets to make it happen'...

The Pens have enough cap problems without adding another ballooning contract, but can you blame 'em for trying? Kunitz is okay. Ottawa will like his hitting. But Talbot, Grant and the 30th overall pick won't amount to much. They need to add more.

LA is giving up a lot in that guy's deal but SensChirp (which I consider to be MUCH more credible), says that LA is the runaway favorite in terms of offering a package for Heatley and is also on the top of his list.

Return is probably going to be different, but LA has a lot of good things to offer and they make the most sense as far as trading partners and needs go.
