Skille to NYI?

Skille doesn't seem like he's been able to get over the hump in Chicago, but maybe on a less talented team like the Islanders he could get his shot.

Is he valued enough in Chicago that it would take a player to get his out, or would maybe the first pick in the third round be enough to snag him?

As an Islanders fan, I'd love Skille for a 3rd. I don't know why Chicago would do this as they're getting a 3rd rounder back for a 7th overall player who's only 22.

Is he projected to be a top 6?

Can a Hawk fan give a scouting report on him?

He must be the Hawks version of Jeff Tambellini

Skille will most likely be a 3rd liner in the NHL. He has good speed, a very strong but slightly innacurate shot and a decent physical and defensive game. He started off the year in Chicago and looked ok but his inability to be consistently physical meant that he lost his spot to Brouwer. Skille was having a very good year in the AHL until he took a bad hit which left him with a concussion, he came back but couldn't regain the scoring touch he had shown earlier on. He suffered another injury (elbow i think) which meant he had to sit out the rest of the season.

I think the Hawks are not really looking for picks. How about:

Jack Skille for Aaron Ness?

Having someone named Ness playing for Chicago would be so cool.

Alternatively, Jack Skille for Travis Hamonic who is a lot closer to what they need in the first place, but lacks the uber cool name.

No interest in Skille unless Chicago is taking Tambellini back.

Isles are very unlikely to waste their cap space on Sopel, who they had a few season ago..*shudder*

As much as I would think bringing in Skille would help, with our defensive prospects being less than stellar, I think it would be unwise to send arguably one of top two defensive prospects even if I do feel we're getting the better end of the deal.

Correct. He will be part of a package to get someone if he's dealt at all. I honestly hope he gets his chance this year. He has some tools to be a power forward with speed but he has yet to put it all together. If he gets more physical he at worst can be a very solid 3rd liner.

This thread should be merged with the Skille to NYI or TOR thread

I would rather keep Skille and put him on Rockford's 1st line.

He played better both in NHL and AHL last yr then his 1st season of professional hockey. Lets see if he can continue to improve.
