Prucha signed a two-year $2.2M deal. Yotes will get a $1.1M cap hit each year.

Thats a solid deal for Prucha. That kid is good and will get a good shot in Phoenix. I can see him putting up 20+ goals for the Coyotes.

EDIT: Plus Meyer does have some potential to be a 10-20 goal scorer
unfortunately the ignorance isn't going to stop for a while, once the season is started, maybe this Balsille topic will be put to rest. It's tortuous to the true hockey fans that the Coyotes have.

I am going to continue this thread sounding like a broken record.

Good deal for Florida.

Reinprecht immediately becomes our fourth-fifth leading point guy by looking at this past season (right there with Timmy,Horton get your thumb out of your a**).

I'm looking at this deal as helping us more in the faceoff circle, and if I'm not mistaken Steve is not that bad of a PK. He could play second line centre for us on the PK. unit or help us somewhere in the special teams catergory. 2nd line centre might be pushing it a bit. I hope we sign someone July 1st to play 2nd line centre behind Weiss on a consistent basis. I like this move the more I look at it.

I've always liked Reinprecht, good job by Florida there, and Phoenix got a pretty good deal on Prucha.

This is, IMO, a good deal for Phoex and good value for an UFA player.

As a tiger fan I disagree a bit. Meyer is a great kid, great personality and I want to see him in the nhl one day. He wont be as good as helm is. I didnt think his game would translate as well to the nhl level, as him and his linemates were physically intimidating at the junoir level.

I still remember that line of Stefan Meyer, Darren Reid, and Steve Regier, that line was intimidatingly scary and after they crunched you, they would come up and score. Reid was one of the top enforcers and a ppg guy. Meyer would throw out bone crunching hits, and could beat the golie from the slot with a hard wrist shot, ppg+ player. Regier was one of those garbage goal players, and good defensively, while finishing every hit, and a ppg player.

They were the best complete line the tigers have had in the last 10 years, IMO, they worked wonders together.

Edit: on second thought , the Darren helm, Chris Stevens, Derek dorsett line was probably just as good, or better.

Don't count on it. Sexton said he wanted to acquire a No.2 center and a mobile PMD through trades and attmept to fill our needs before July 1st. Well, Reinprecht is the center. Besides, we already have Kreps and Campbell in the bottom six.

"Steve is a smart, high-character, hard-working player who fits our club's need for a second-line center," Panthers assistant General Manager Randy Sexton said. "We are constantly looking to upgrade our team speed and he brings this to our club as part of his skill set. He also possesses an ability to win faceoffs, another area our team looked to improve on this off-season."
Second line center eh...

I guess Horton will shift to the wing with Weiss as his center. Campbell center the third line, and Kreps fourth?

likely, though, I'd rather Frolik stay with Booth and Weiss, move Horton with Stiller and Reinprecht. Two playmakers.

Pretty close.

McLean doesn't seem to fit on a DeBoer team. I'd be a little surprised to see him on the opening day roster. I wouldn't be shocked if Stewart were gone as well. I didn't see his role grow at all as the season progressed. Dvorak will hopefully be back, so pencil him into that third line with Campbell (with Olesz replacing Peltonen on the "CPR line"...which I guess makes it the "OCD line" now)

I expect you'll see a trade/signing for a 2nd pair d-man, so I don't expect that both Ellerby & Garrison will start the season in the NHL.

There are unsubstantiated rumors that Vokoun is on the block. I suspect he's available for the right price (who isn't?). If he's moved, you can expect to see an Anderson/1b tandem.

Olesz will be one of the most expensive fourth line guys in hockey if Dvo comes back, and our young guys make the squad. I laugh and cringe at the same time.

At least we have depth

edit: He might play on the third line but that is no guarantee.

Good Move for the Panthers. Gives them some needed depth. They where nearly playoff contenders last year and if they could just find a way to resign Bouwmeester and add a Star VIA free agency (Gaborik, Hossa, Havlat), I believe they can be legit playoff contenders for the upcoming season.

Yep. And we can still re-sign Skrastins as well. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ellerby and Garrison both in Rochester again next season.
