exactly - why the hell should you pay more to bell to use the same network AND get worse quality AND get a bandwith cap (teksavvy has none).

How long before we can get the "Molson Centre" back? I like it much better than "Bell Centre".

He needs to turn this team around with the opportunity he has. 'Cause with or without Molson, he's probably on a tighter leash.
And don't forget the article clearly states that Savard will be asked to fill a MAJOR role....

Coors bought molson? I thought it was just a merger. The molson name would get way more recognition and respect than coors.

It was Marcel Hossa's gloves. He played for the Rangers.

As you know, Rangers and Canadiens both use Red Blue and White and their equipment.

Molson is the logical choice . Good news

Now , the question is how Peladeau and his medias will cover the Habs in the future . Personal agenda ?

They always had an agenda, now it's just gonna be worse. I hope the molson's are ready to do what it takes to keep the media from ruining the team's season again.

Maybe they'll make up stories, and overreact to anything the team does and doesn't do!

NHL.com is also referencing the report so I doubt they would be foolish enough to publish if it was false.

ESPN.com

Hockey's most storied franchise has been sold, pending approval from the NHL.

Sources told ESPN.com Saturday that the Molson family has agreed in principle to purchase the Montreal Canadiens and Bell Centre from George Gillett.

The deal still needs approval from the NHL's Board of Governors. The league needs to do due diligence on the sale and have a board vote, and a source said Saturday sale approval "will be sometime mid-summer at the earliest."

French sports network RDS reported Saturday that the sale was worth $550 million, but a source told ESPN.com that the price was in excess of that.

Well, well, it seems my friends at Molson were right. The inside ramblings were true.

Ok, I'll the first one to say it but 550 millions?

Gillette made out like bandit on this one... He bought it from borrowed money garanteed by Molson in the first place. Leveraged it to buy Liverpool and sold it three times what he never paid.

I am not sure the guy was ever rich; he always owed more than he owns.

But now he might be.

I'm glad for two reasons :

1-Molson know how it works. Quebec owners is the best way to move forward IMO.

2-I don't want PKP owning the Habs, cause he wants to get a license for a sport channel. If he can't show habs games, he will surely turn to Quebec and help them get a new NHL team. That's what I hope for a long time.

Good. If Gillett couldn't hold on to the team, Molson was my next choice. Good news all around.
