Steve Wagner

Not anything big, but I like what I've seen from Wagner in the ahl with Peoria, what would be like price to acquire him? I know he wasn't drafted but it looks like hes panning out well, maybe a 3rd rounder? Give me an estimate.

too funny, maybe you shouldn't have replied if you didn't know who Steve Wagner is.

He played for the rivermen this year in the AHL and has done fairly well.

Not more then a 4th - maybe a 3rd if you team really likes him. He could be a solid 6-7 guy in the NHL, with a focus on the PP. Quite frankly, he played much better last season then he did this season (but he really wasn't given much of an opportunity). He really isn't physical and with the log jam for St. Louis on the Blue line, I don't know if he will ever get a fair shot.

I actually think he could beat out a few players this coming season. If we find a way to deal McKee, I wouldn't be entirely shocked to see Wagner make the team next year. I would expect the Blues to sign him to a 2-3 year deal. I like the kid's potential.

It's just my opinion, but I'd probably need a late second, or a early third.

Like I said, just my opinion. I don't want to move Wagner right now. Especially if it's just for a pick.

A 4th doesn't seem worth it. Who would you grab in the 4th? They wouldn't be as good right now, or have the potential that Wagner has, but that's just my opinion.

A 3rd is more on track, but I just don't see the initial impact or even future impact that Wagner possesses in the later picks of the round.

A very late second from a contender would do it, or a top 10 pick of the 3rd round of a rebuilding team looking to add a solid future #4 defenseman for their team would do it.

Maybe I just like Wagner more than others, but I don't really want the Blues to keep on trading for draft picks, as I believe they're in really good shape right now they way they are. It wouldn't even hurt to deal a few away if the deal was right.

Steve Wagner will never be a regular NHL defenseman. If you get offered a third or fourth rounder, you take it. Worth the chance that that pick WILL develop.

There is no way that Wagner will beat out enough players to make the team. He's buried on our depth chart and we have other prospects in the pipeline (Cole, Fairchild, Warsofsky) that will soon pass him up. If you can get a 4th rounder for Wagner you take the pick and run.
