Anyone see this quote today from Kevin Lowe????

"You cannot be in the playoffs if you have anything below a .900 save percentage," said GM Kevin Lowe. "There is no other way to slice it."

Here's the link to the full story:

I think what Lowe should've said is that, "we were extremely lucky to make the playoffs last year with sub .900 netmindering from our starter and I pushed my luck this year bringing Salo back before finally recognizing I likely wouldn't be as lucky the second time around."

Get over it - Salo is gone.

Fast forward to the year 2104, Matts, in his living room, glass falls to the floor as he utters something with his last breath.

"What did he say?" asks the doctor?

"fricking Salo", says his wife, shaking her head.

My father in law is a bigtime Wings fan too, which means my wife thinks Gordie Howe walked on water even though she never saw him play. I'd call her on it, but it gets cold nights.

That's for something Gretzky would say. This is LOWE and he means no BS. He calls it what it is. He always likes to say what's wrong, but never who's at fault, even though everyone knows whom he is implying.

I think Dan Barnes strikes the right note in this article. I personally wish Salo the best (except when he plays against the Oilers) but am happy with the two tenders the 'Oil' have now.

Yeah

that's twice in the last 3 or 4 days now that Barnes has made a jab at the Surhammar Sieve. And it furthers the opinion that Salo wouldn't take any criticism.

But he's gone now and I'm glad
