Predators need 9 points to CLINCH a spot.

a combination of us beating Columbus, Chicago and St. Louis and getting a point in Colorado should do it.

Nashville's Schedule

Tue 30 Chicago
Thu 1 at Chicago
Sat 3 St. Louis
Sun 4 at Colorado

St. Louis' Schedule
Sat 27 Chicago - W
Sun 28 @Chicago - W
Tue 30 Edmonton
Thu 1 Detroit
Sat 3 at Nashville
Sun 4 at Minnesota

Edmonton's Schedule
Fri 26 Los Angeles W - 3-1
Sun 28 Phoenix W
Tue 30 at St. Louis
Wed 31 at Dallas
Sat 3 at Vancouver

Los Angeles' Schedule
Fri 26 at Edmonton L - 3-1
Sat 27 at Calgary OTL - 3-2
Mon 29 at Colorado
Wed 31 San Jose
Fri 2 Calgary
Sun 4 at San Jose

If this inappropriate to our mojo, feel free to erase it Smokey/NMK

now is 9 the "magic number?"

because 9 of 10 points is a tall order, i'm afraid.

I think 8 points gets us in. I think 6-7 is about what I expect. And if we get that point total, it'll all be up to who we get it against (i.e. beating St. Louis).

maybe this is strange, but i think we have more of a chance of winning both the st louis and colorado games than winning both chicago games

I don't know. The one thing we have going for us is that Colorado is abysmal at home (compared to away) and with a loss or two (and a few SJ wins) Colorado will likely have nothing to play for in their last game of the year. Why not rest Sakic, Forsberg and Co. instead of facing the rough and tumble Preds.

2 of the next 3 and beat St. Louis, and we're in.
