That's amazing. I like how someone comes to help him.

and I didn't have time yesterday to pick up the drinks for my friend's "Congrats for dumping your crazy ex-girlfriend and coming back to Ottawa" party tonight.

It would be under federal jurisdiction right? So unless the RCMP is going to set up checkpoints at provincial border crossing (bridges and roads), it wouldn't be enforced. When the SAQ went on strike, no one stopped tons of Quebecois from coming to the LCBO and bringing alcohol home. It would probably cost too much money to enforce this law anyways.

i've read the article 3 times and no where does it say that, a sun article yesterday said it was not illegal to do so between quebec and ontario.

LCBO REACHES TENTATIVE AGREEMENT
WITH ITS UNIONIZED EMPLOYEES

LCBO today announced that a tentative agreement has been reached with its 6,000 unionized employees, averting the possibility of a strike at LCBO stores and warehouses.

Terms of the new collective bargaining agreement were not disclosed pending ratification by members of the Liquor Board Employees Division of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU).

The agreement must also be approved by members of the LCBO Board of Directors and by the Government of Ontario through an Order-in-Council.

So basically this was probably just a way to boost sales like crazy for a day.

Ingenious marketing!

Hardly ingenious.
With their monopoly they traded future sales for sales today (yesterday) and we all know that prices will only get higher in the future.

It was a joke

EDIT: and yes their prices will get higher, but you seem to imply that it's because of the monopoly. The main reason prices go up is because of inflation, the monopoly doesn't have all that much to do with it.

LCBO profits this week:
Monday: 17 million
Tuesday: 60 million

A typical late June day is 7 million.

FYI: I looked it up and The Beer Store is unionized.
