FA Game #8 Coach Hiring/Waivers Thread

I will be in charge of waivers/buyouts/hiring of coaches. If two teams would like to hire the same coach, they must both PM me pleading their case as to why they should choose their team. There is a 24 hour period for one team's hiring inquiry where another team can choose to hire the same client, where the above scenario would take place. If you wish to hire a person who is currently employed by another NHL team, you need permission from that GM. Also, veteran players with more than one year left on their contract cannot be sent to the minors. They can still be waived, but they cannot be assigned to your AHL affiliate. Any questions PM me.

Montreal Canadiens place on waivers center Glen Metropolit.

Also Canadiens would like to express their interest in hiring Guy Boucher as the head coach for the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Also would like to hire David Marcoux as the goalie coach and Perry Pearn as assistant head coach.

EDIT: Decided to chance from Dave Lewis to Perry Pearn because of the strong rumour that Pearn is to be named soon as Habs assistant coach. 24h period will finish at 2:05 PM tommorow for Pearn.

Hiring Dave Lewis is good if you want your franchise set back for years.

I know it's Billyshoe's job, but you cannot waive Nylander, he has a NMC.

I think he's allowed to be waived, but if someone claims him he can reject it, and he can't be sent to the minors

The terms of a NMC state that you cannot be waived or sent down without the player's consent.

New Jersey Devils name current Manitoba Moose head coach Scott Arniel as their head coach for the 2009-2010 season. We feel Scott's ability to get the most out of younger players will be perfect for our rookies making the leap next season, and he will have no problem getting the most out of the rest of the roster. Arniel was awarded the Louis A. R. Pieri Memorial Award as AHL coach of the year in 2009. We welcome him to our team. John McLean will remain assistant coach, as will Tommy Albelin.

Did I or did I not call Lemelin being fired??? I fire him yesterday, and he gets fired today. Jones has cleared, and Metropolit & Granqvist are Philly's.

Detroit would like to offer Chris Chelios the position of Strength and Conditioning coach if he is ready to step away from active hockey.
