Why does everyone think Vinny is getting dealt? There is actually a very little chance Lecavalier gets dealt due to the problems in Tampa's management right now and trading their best player off of emotion would be foolish, and they have learned that making decisions off of emotion does not work, just look at last offseason and all of this past season

I will guarantee that Lecavalier DOES NOT get traded at the draft.

Islanders will be the story.

They either made a great pick & picked up the best player in the draft in John Tavares or Victor Hedman (they are even IMO), or they royally screwed up by going with someone else.

As of now it is the Kings. I think every mock has the same top 4 guys and then with the Kings it always changes. Even if they don't trade the pick the rest of the draft falls into place after them.

The rumors of the Habs chasing down VL, the LA Kings looking to add offence and willing to use the 5th as bait & of course Danny "Ask For A Trade" Heatley looking for a new home...

In your opinion, what team do you think will have the most "impactful" day!

I'm going to take the NY Islanders just because I think it's safe to say they never do the "right thing" and thus I'm sure it will make for an intresting day of off-season hockey.
The Islanders were considered draft winners last year. They did fine in the one before too considering how few picks they had. They did all right in free agency last year too. I think some people can't grasp that Mike Milbury is no longer their GM.

I'm going to take the NY Islanders because just like last year they have so many high picks including the number 1. But if the Rangers move one or more of their big 4 contracts that will put them up there too.

There are 211 draft picks this year.. so the center is 105.5...

At 105 you have Phoenix and at 106 you have Anaheim, so those 2 teams are technicaly the center of the draft...

I think the Leafs will steal the show, Burkies first draft at the helm and we all know he likes to start with a big splash/bang

If Ottawa pulls off a Heatley deal with a team drafting in the top 10 and gets their pick, then perhaps they will outshine even the Almighty Canadiens. But if Vinnie gets flipped to the Habs then people will forget about Tavares or Hedman for months. Old Bob Mackenzie and company seemed to think there was about 0% chance of this happening though.

Ottawa and Los Angeles pull off the big deal and steal the show. Heatley to the Kings for the 5th, Preissing, and Jonathan Bernier. You heard it hear first!

Phoenix selecting Wheeler at fifth a few years back I believe was a pretty big story in that draft. The Olli Jokinin for Keith Ballard swap was a pretty big deal, last draft, too. So maybe, just maybe, Phoenix does something HUGE, this year, to REALLY be the CENTER of the draft. How does this CRAZY proposal sound...

To ANA:
Alex Bourret

To PHX:
106th overall pick

...BAM! Phoenix is the CENTER of the draft!

Isles...

Whether they get it right (and select Tavares) or **** it up, we'll still be talking about them 1 way or another...

I already know the Bruins will be making the headlines not just because of the players being moved and the move up the draft, but to spoil the party in Montreal again this year.

Burke will talk the most, whine the most, and try to get the most air-time with TSN... but ultimately Tampa, MTL, or Ottawa be the big story.

As a Canadian, you should know that we spell it "Centre", not "Center". Just like we spell words like "colour" instead of "color". But anyway...the Sens might be the story of the draft due to potential Heatley trade.

It will be Burke whining like a brat because he couldn't move up.

There's no way its not Toronto. If Burke makes a big move then that will be the focus, and if Burke doesnt make a big move, then him not making the big move will be the centre of the draft.

Burke doesn't need to make a big move and he will still get the most air time, and do you know why? 2 reasons, first he loves the media and gives the best sound bytes. 2nd he could kick the crap out of any of the TSN people and they know it.

I think Florida might be the center of the draft. They've got the big ticket item that needs to be moved or they lose said item for nothing. What's kind of spooky about things is how quiet it has really been on the Bouwmeester front. We'll certainly know more tomorrow. If he's dealt, then I think it's going to set off a chain reaction of events....

Ha! Besides the CA markets, Florida looks poised to steal the spot light. Islanders will pry be overlooked once Tavares goes #1. No more drama.
