Hmmm, did you see my guess'?

Schenn, MPS

Landon Ferraro, Zach Buddish

Anton Lander, Mattias Lindstrom

Sorry, did miss that one. Lander in the 3rd round would be a hell of a pick up. Hopefully he does sneak through the cracks.

I'm reading some teams are high enough on Budish to take him in the 1st round.

1st.... MPS....
2nd Tatar
3rd Klingberg

i'm fine with that and we need no more offseason work.
Let the other guys do the dirty jobs and complain later.
I would go after Gaborik and if he says no... i'm fine

The Kings don't draft in the first round. Since that is my prediction, we know they'll be picking somebody in the first round!

If Rajala is available in the 3rd round I would be very surprised.

I really wish we still had that 2nd from the Williams/Sully deal.

I'd like to see

5th - Schenn
35th - Budish

Budish already has the size and strength to be an impact player and I keep seeing his stock rising. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get snatched up in the 1st round though. I'm expecting a couple guys to drop from the 1st round. Maybe someone like Drew Shore could be acquired with the 35th, who knows?

Hmm rumor is Waddell and Burke are in talks about a deal that could send the 4th overall to Toronto. Guess we can all forget about Schenn. Does that make Kane the next obvious choice?

Hell yes!

I'm really hoping for that scenario. I like Schenn and will be just fine with selecting him, but if Kane falls to us I will consider the draft a huge success.

I could see it. He plays like a cross between Holmstrom and Iginla in my eyes and we've definitely been craving some Holmstrom-esque net presence and some Iginla-like scoring. I just wish he could get rid of that Canadian "y'know" tick. It's gonna get to me during interviews.

I see Dean going with Forwards with his first two picks this draft. I don't see him being able to {or worth} trade UP, and doubt he'd trade DOWN below 7th. I also think he'll try to package some of the picks / current prospects to land another 2nd round pick this year. With his 3rd selection, be it another pick in the 2nd round or his pick in the 3rd round I think based on Hextall's draft interview on KingsVision that they will select a Defenseman to keep the reserve list stocked on D down the road. So ...

1st Selection - 5th overall 1st Round
BRAYDEN SCHENN /or MAGNUS PAAJARVI-SVENSSON
{other options - EVANDER KANE, but I think he'll be gone before we pick}

2nd Selection - 35th overall 2nd Round
RYAN O'REILLY /or CARL KLINGBERG
{other options - JEREMY MORIN, RICHARD PANIK, TOMAS TATAR}

3rd Selection - ? Trade ? into 2nd / 74th overall 3rd Round
BRAYDEN McNABB /or DMITRI ORLOV
{other options - BRIAN DUMOULIN, TAYLOR DOHERTY, MAC BENNETT, MATT CLARK
who depends if Dean can trade to get another 2nd round pick, or will it be the set 3rd IMO}

1. E. Kane, Burke will make a deal with someone to land the p.r. "sensation" of having two brothers on the same team. Its TO, he has to do something big and splashy. Personally, I hope this selection goes down this way, I like them both but have had the chance to see Kane play a few times in person and this kid is a standout.

2nd rd. I want us to take R Oreilly but I feel we will take R Panik. I am good with either of these picks but feel that Panik has more upside. R.O. is one of those players who is good at everything but great at nothing, someone that you want on your team if you don't already have someone like him. We do in spades so I would go with Panik.

Panik has shown game breaking ability and if he was a bit more consistent he would be taken in the first round somewhere between 14 and 18 in my opinion.

3rd, Alexander Avtsyn. I am sort of alone in seeing him as a 3rd rounder but I would gamble on this kid all day long. I have only seen him play in two games and then only clips but he stands out above the rest of the players on the ice and in both clips there were players (both on his team and on the opponents) who are slated ahead of him in this years draft.

I know he is a bit of a gamble and going by DL's draft history not one of his typical players but someone will steal this kid and why not us? He can score with the very elite best of his age group and is a good skater, not exceptionally good, but good and only needs time to develop before he can truly be assessed.

Those would be my top three round picks, with the exception of Kane I don't think that I will get any of them right. If I were to try and pull a rabbit out of my dark and dirty (see T. Hickey at 4rth overall) I could see someone, maybe even us taking Schroeder at 5th overall. If the kid was two inches taller he would be a top five selection in my opinion.

Don't see us or anyone doing it but it could happen.

I doubt any of us got more than 1 pick correct. DL "off the board" draft.
