Flyers had an interesting visitor at practice

FLYERS NOTES

FLYERS NOTES
Hitchcock classified Keith Primeau as “doubtful” for Saturday’s game. … Claude Lapointe missed practice due to the flu. … The Flyers’ 2003 first round draft pick Jeff Carter skated with the Flyers on Friday. Carter’s season in juniors recently ended.

He couldn't play for us now, could he?

Be cool if he could.

Yes, if we signed Carter he could play.

Better to give Primeau until Thursday to play. Rangers have lost 8 straight, we should be able to beat them without Preems.

I posted this over at O & B and 1 guy said that the Devils might sign Parise after his season is done. Interesting.

Yes Flyers can sign him... Because his team out of playoff... I think Flyers giving it a hard look and thinking should they sign him before the playoff start...

If they signed him, would he be compensated for the entire year (which would surely be over $1,000,000)? Also his contract would expire two seasons from now, which is questionable which camp (Carter or Flyers) would like that.

No pro prated.

for example is his contract called for him to make $820 K per season, he would get $10,000 per game.

Is this possible, or should I say probable? What are the chances?

At this point of the season, Hitch won't play a kid with no NHL experience, and not knowing his system.

I say they could sign him now, but was thinking he could get a deal like Wood. Contract starting next season with an insured Amateur tryout to play for Phantoms. But Carter being more of a big money signing, Signing him now might be advantageous. Carter would not make his bonus this season, and perhaps with the projected labor unrest, not the following seasons either. So he could be tied up in a contract, now, relatively cheaply. He could be under contract for a few years, and then signed again, perhaps under a new CBA. I say he might start on the Phantoms. Think he might be able to displace some of the current centers.

I think he was just there for the hell of it. He was finished for the season, let him see how things are done on the big team

I don't see why he couldn't get a 8-10 minutes on the 4th line in the playoffs. Just tell him to skate hard and try to make something happen. I hear he's a good defensive player...

I doubt Hitch would do it though.
