What Happened to Brandon Nolan?

Can anyone tell me what happened to Brandon Nolan? It seems like he fell of the face of the earth after last season. I sat next to him at a game a couple of seasons ago and he seemed like a really nice guy.

Concussion. He took a nasty hit in the AHL (not long after returning from a few games as a callup here IIRC) and really seems to have never even 90% recovered from it. The Canes still retain his rights IIRC, but I don't expect him to play again.

Wow. Thanks for the update. I didn't know that he was injured so badly. It's a shame. He's a really nice kid. I hope he recovers.

Yeah, it sucks. He was a great player for Albany and looked decent in his call-up on a line with Cullen and Ladd. I don't know if he would have ever become a full-time NHLer, but I think he could have made it as 4th liner.

Also, I'm pretty sure we don't have his rights. I don't think we gave him a qualifying offer and he's 25 now so he would be a Group VI free agent anyway.

Too bad, just when he started to come around. I wish him all the best.

His brother, Jordan, was drafted in the 7th round.

CAROLINA HURRICANES

Group 2 FAs: Patrick Dwyer, Mark Flood, Joe Jensen, Chad Larose, Brandon Nolan, Dennis Seidenberg.
Group 3 UFAs: Keith Aucoin, Ryan Bayda, Wade Brookbank, John Grahame, Bret Hedican, Darcy Hordichuk, Trevor Letowski, Glen Wesley.
Group 6 UFAs: Tim Conboy, Joey Mormina.
UFAs: Kevin Nastiuk

Brrandon was a Group 2 FA last year so he was qualified. The Canes still has his rights until he turn 27
