i really wonder who the hell thinks something is gonna happen, seriously, with all the past about Gainey, we have just learned he has good intentions, but isnt able to adapt to the rest of the league, if everyone would have respect, devotion and patience he would be the best gm, but in todays game, the assets that produce are agressiveness, quick adaption, seeking abilities, wich Gainey doesnt want to use..

myself, i just have faith in Gainey and we will see, but we have to consider a posibility of starting the year with... no star at all, because all the other gms who are doing what they have to do, will either hit the jack pot or.. bust, but at least they might get a top 5 next year in the draft by busting..

anyway, i just hope bob realise if nothing is done today, he better be ready to unload a freaking huge amount of money for a ufa.. with this year crop anyway, nothing really to make you a contender.. not if you dont have enough money to add depth..
our team will be the hamilton bulldogs version lockout..

That's what I was thinking originally. But in addition to having to clear space, I believe their window of opportunity, as far as contending, is still a couple of years away. The Sedins' best years (they are both 29 years old next season) are right now. I think it makes more sense for Burke to pursue players aged 27 or younger, that are still good bets to be in their prime when the team starts winning. Hence Kaberle being on the market - if the Leafs were looking at contending in the next couple of years, there's no way they'd be shopping a great player with a great contract like TKab.
