HFBoards TOP 100 ranking: Forwards #16

Now that the season and playoffs are over, I thought we'd do an "HFBoards ranking" for each position.

So basically, who (of the following) is the best forward in the NHL? ie. which forward would you want on your team for next year only? (independent of their respective salary)

Vote away.

Ranking so far

1. Ovechkin
2. Malkin
3. Crosby
4. Datsyuk
5. Kovalchuk
6. Iginla
7. Getzlaf
8. Zetterberg
9. Thornton
10. Lecavalier

11. Parise
12. E.Staal
13. M.Richards
14. Nash
15. Heatley

Voted for Vanek. He's young and scores a lot of goals.

I really hate to bring it up and it rarely is true.. but in this case I'm quite sure it's because he's and good ol' canadian goalscorer.. Because anyone who has seen actually seen a Sens game know that Alfredsson is the better player

QFT.

Sens fans have been saying this for years.

HF just has collective ADD because Heatley is everywhere with all of these trade proposals.

It's a joke that Hossa hasn't been voted in yet.

"What have you done for me lately?" mentality at its finest.

So true. Embarassing having Heatley over Alfie, and even Hossa.

Alffie > Parise, Staal, Richards, Nash

Not taking age and that kinda stuff into consideration, i think Alffie should be 11th on this list.

Savard and Alfredsson should have already been up there IMO, but hopefully they go up as the next 2 at least.

He's got a nifty wrist and snap shot. One of the best I've seen.

Still has to show more to put him ahead of a lot of guys.

He's basically Kovalev right now.

Also agreed. Hossa should have been there already. So should Alfredsson and Savard all gone in the last few before guys like Heatley and especially Nash IMO.

Voted Alfie, he should have been #11 or so IMO. If I ask myself, which one of these players do I want on my time come playoffs, I think he might be top 10 even. I would definitely want him before Nash and Heatley, and probably some other guys up there too.

I think two years of medicre play is enough for someone like Hossa to fall behind Alfredsson and Savard, who have been consistantly excellent for years.

Chicago's Big 3 of Havlat, Kane, and Toews should all be added soon. I guess add Havlat next - he was a bit better than the other two last year.

Even though I have been voting Hossa (Heatley? Nash?), yesterday I realized how I underated Savard so Savard got my vote today. I don't mind Alfredson going before him though but I if this is a poll of who is the best right now as in going into the next season, I think Hossa is bouncing back big (although he had a pretty good regular season)

Considering Hossa is better than Alfie both offensively and defensively I'm pretty confused on how he is behind in this poll ..
