The loser: Ask me five years from now. Boring? Yeah, but that's how it is.

But seriously, to me anyway, THAT would be boring... teams picking exactly who they should based on the ISS or CSB rankings. How would there be losers and winners at all?

I think this will be an exciting draft.

i think they are going to go with Duchene because the NYI love to rip my heart out every chance they get.

Very nice random statement you have here that was based on no merits besides what our former G.M. did years ago.

Alright let me make a baseless inane statement like yours: Thrashers will trade away the fourth overall and Ilya Kovalchuk to the Capitals for their first round pick and a fifth round pick.
1st of all: Wow. Just wow. Bitter Islanders fan much? I mean honestly bud, no hard feelings here, it was a joke.

2nd of all: If you were trying to take a shot at my favorite team, try again. Just because I have my avator as Bogie doesnt mean the Thrashers are my favorite team or that I even like them. In fact, I dont care about the Thrashers, only Bogosian. I could care less what team he played for. Seeing as Bogie grew up 30 minutes away from me and I play open hockey with him on Sundays when he is home in Massena, I think it is safe to say I like him and will like no matter what. Its kind of a big deal when anyone around here makes the bigs, because there have been few, and I know most of them. Another example is Craig Conroy, who is from Potsdam and who my dad coached at potsdam high before he left for northwood. joe charlebois (hawks' pick) and wade megan (elligible for this year's draft, expected to go in the later rounds) are other local kids who have a shot. my brother actually played with him most of the way up before he left for south kent. So no, i dont like the Thrashers, i like z bogs. try again.

My prediction: Toranto pick's Simon Depres/Scott Glennie/John Moore with Jared Cowen still on the board.

PS I am a Leafs fan and first post
What's a Toranto?

The Kings have a knock to screw things when picking in that range

I will not believe that the Islanders will take anyone other than Taveras.

See the

They wouldn't now, but how was the reaction immediately after the draft? Because he was picked so much earlier than his rankings at ISS, CSB, McKeens etc, people were laughing at Phoenix ,thinking they did very poorly.

My point was that the 'winners/losers' threads will pop up right after the draft, five years too early. And most people will base their list of the winners and losers on players picked early or late compared to their rankings we know aboout. People seem to forget there are 30 other organizations who have professional scouts, where we know virtually nothing about the rankings.

Besides we won't know who drafted poorly this weekend... we'll know 5 years from now.
Exactly! Some people might hate a teams pick tonight but noone is going to know wether the player is a bust or a superstar for atleast a few years.

Who ever doesn't get 2 or 3 solid picks out of a draft like this.
