Should be a good camp. Looking forward to hearing the real scoop on Kreider with some higher level guys. Also interested in hearing how MDZ has progressed.

I read about Curadi on the Pipleline blog when they discussed HS players

Quote:
Luke Curadi (D) - Here's someone who will get drafted for no other reason than his size; 6'4.5 and 250 lbs! He only played 38 games this past year but he had 167 PIM. Apparently moving up to play in the BCHL with the Penticton Vees next year. "He's big, he's tough, he plays with a real attitude and just runs around and bangs guys and slashes guys. He reminds me of Carl Racki in Youngblood." - scout
http://thepipelineshow.blogspot.com/...schoolers.html

Curadi can't sign a NHL contract. Too young. Can still be drafted.

Haha, Keith Kinkaid went to the same HS I did, was on the freshman team the year I graduated iirc. Good for him.

Oh come on, if he signs a contract down the road, it's because an NHL team sees something that indicates to him he has a future professionally.

RB, why do they invite guys that they can't give a contract if they impress? Seems odd to me...

I'm also annoyed that Doyle isn't there. He should be there instead of some of the depth unsigned overagers whose names I don't recognize. He's got a shot to be really good, but he needs more management attention from what I read, not less.

I would think to get an early look and to use them as warm bodies to fill in during scrimmages.

sucking in the ECHL

fairly surprising that he had such a successful juniors career and then struggled so much adjusting to the pro game.

looking forward to pics and video of the rookie camp

He's been skating a lot and his game has improved twofold. He'll be good. I promise you that. My dad comes home almost every day raving about how much stronger Mitch has become. They've been training him since he was 16, and just now something clicked with him and he really started to put himself into it. He's going to look absolutely amazing come Development Camp.
Nice, though there's a big difference between being in fantastic shape and being a fantastic hockey player Let's hope he plays great too. Also, does he have to go back to the dub or is he AHL eligible now?

Bourque's going to the Q, so he doesn't give a **** about NCAA restrictions.

Yeah but even then, you kind of expect those players to struggle in the AHL, not in the ECHL. I don't think it's just that he played in a weak junior league, something just went wrong with the guy. I'd hazard a guess he would have been a solid player in the other CHL leagues as well, but when it came time to step it up at the pro level, he just couldn't make that next step.

Yeah but if they are obviously spending money beyond their means, someone is going to notice...can't stay at a posh hotel and eat $80 steak dinners every night and expect someone to not say "**** son how can you afford that, let me take a closer look"

Boot camp
Ever seen a "bag skate" in June? That's how last year's first-rounder, defenseman Michael Del Zotto, described the first day of the Rangers' week-long development camp. It started with timed sprints (with the players wearing a timing device strapped around their skate boot) and, later today, the players will be timed in a three-mile run.

Tomorrow's skate will include 45 laps - three sets of 15. Coach John Tortorella said it's just a preview of what can be expected when the team opens training camp in September.

oh man oh man....i hope the rest of the rangers are paying attention for this little slice of heaven waiting for them....haha.

really i like this. I mean it shows all the prospects that they have to bust their ass off if they want to make the nhl, and hopefully jump starts their own personal development in how much hard work they will have to put in.

"As far as the lines are concerned, as far as the makeup of our team, from Scott Gomez right on down, the only guy I know is gonna be there is Hank. He’s gonna be our starting goalie. But other than that, it’s wide open. And I’m not afraid of youth. It’s going to be done on merit,." Tortorella said shortly after the first day of prospect camp here in Westchester.

Another beauty from Zip:

And he indicated that he wasn't happy with some of acceptance of the lifestyles of players:
"We got two hot meals a day, we got a great practice facility, we got limos flying all over the place, we got New York City, the theaters, I need this, I need that," he said. "It’s time to put your hand, instead of asking for more, take it away and start getting things done.”

He may not be running all the drills, but he is most certainly pushing his theories and expectations.

Chappell is actually a good late bloomer. He might surprise people.

Check out where he finished in some of the coaches polls:

Maggio they just drafted in the the 6th round.

Besides Maggio, they're players that have not been drafted but invited to rookie camp.
