Seriously...what is Andrew Gross taking his breaks when the players hit the ice an comes back when they are off to interview them?

Umm... I don't know what you guys are looking for when Gross clearly stated a number of times that there wasn't much actual touching of the puck. Just a bunch of conditioning tests.

I guess it's just another case of a name getting overhyped on hfboards? Cause he did not get drafted.

So tell me who looked like a good skater or something. Zipay mentioned Bourque looked good and scored a nice goal.

With whatever play of the puck they did have, Zipay has some impressions:

Can't wait to hear more.

That's a bit harsh. I know we're all hard up for info on the prospects, but the majority of the first two hours was sprints plus a three-mile run in the afternoon. What would you have the writers do?

He'll have to play one more year with the OHL Erie Otters... he doesn't have WHL rights
lol he's too young to play AHL, he's 19. He's obviously a great player, otherwise he wouldn't have been the 4th overall choice his OHL Draft year and he would have been passed over by every team because of his injury(s). He's gonna be pretty damn good.

There is plenty to report on when it comes to conditioning.

Reading between the lines, the kids were gassed and not expecting this. Sounds like a lot of them are in early summer/vacation conditioning, and probably the drills weren't very pretty. At least this gives those getting an invite in September will know what to expect. My guess is that the other members of the org are getting their butts off the couch after hearing about this camp.

Agreed, finally not being treated like millionaire Primadona's should wake everyone up.

I'm pretty disappointed with the coverage this year.

Last year we had videos, interviews, and all that up on Rangers.com.

Hopefully they get that stuff up for tomorrow.

Was that before the NHL took over the website, though? I can't recall....

You're right.

It was before the NHL took over the web page.

It's really annoying, this is why the Rangers didn't want to give in. So they could market their team the way they want.

That debacle had less to do with what content that made it to the site than who has the rights to that content. That and the NHL has a consistent template across all team sites that they wanted to enforce. The Rangers marketing department wanted to control the design as they pleased.

There's no reason the same coverage shouldn't make it online in the next couple days. If it doesn't, it's not the NHL's fault.

I dunno, I felt like there was a definite drop in the quality of the coverage on the website once that change took place. Maybe it's just me, though. Anyway, this is a debate for another thread. Hopefully the same stuff gets on the website this year.

Rangers brass is huddling here at the training complex after a morning of watching group after groupof four prospects skate 45 rink-length laps (three sets of 15). Well, the goalies were asked to skate 36 (three sets of 12). Each player wore a lightweight timing strap around his right instep.

The standouts: Matt Gilroy (who we're predicting right now will make this team), who lapped his group in the final set, and Ryan Bourque.
Good sign from Gilroy.
