15th overall (via Anaheim)
8.5 Million in cap savings to sign a free agent replacement for Heatley

Note: Ottawa would draft 5th, 9th, 15th, 39th and 46th.
Swap Heatley with Giguere and you got yourself a deal!

For the record we've all been getting Pronger's "mysterious" age wrong..He isn't 32, 35, or 73, he's actually 34.

and would immediately say, well he's certainly trying to be as good as giguere is.

god i love how stupid the kings are. just keep believin that 16 points out of the playoffs is something that takes 3 seasons to overcome...

I think Arjun is on our side on this one.

Our little King fan friend doesn't realize that with as good as Quick looked last year, his GAA and Sv% are identical to Giguere's career numbers including his hellish past season.

You're right on that one buddy. I was mock quoting the homer of the hour, Kurrilino.

Quick is only going to get better, he's still developing.

If Quick already has numbers identical to Giguere's career numbers in his rookie season, why would the Kings have any interest in JSG?

Because a goalie has never had one good season and dropped off.

See: Jim Carey

I'm not saying that the Kings should want Giguere, I'm saying that saying Quick is better than him is laughable.

Kurrilinos posts are always hilarious, basically the Kings shouldn't have to give to get, only secondary prospects, and secondary talent for stars will do, The Kings have missed the playoffs for 7 straight years, but somehow most of their roster is untouchable

Sure Quick could drop off... but Giguere could also never regain the form he used to have. Going by both of their recent play, Quick is the better goaltender right now, IMO. Next year will tell.

I would gamble on Giguere next season, if I were the Kings I wouldn't gamble the extra 5 million on it. I think we both agree that they need to spend that on scoring.

Why the hell does LA need Giguere anyways? Did anyone even watch Quick last year? He's basically Mason/Rinne without hype.

Why on earth would the kings wrap up so much salary in Pronger and Giggy when our top priority is a scoring winger?

Quick played very well and has earned a chance at nailing down the #1 job. Bernier could be pushing for a spot in camp.

Imbecilic trade for the kings to make.
