Werek:" The type of game I play is a power forward with hands. I like to win all my battles, including faceoffs. My weakness is that I am a perfectionist and I am never truly satisfied with my game. I constantly try to improve every aspect of my game. "

I wouldn't have flipped a **** if we took Werek 21st, to be honest, if other guys were gone.

There's something about this guy that makes me excited. I think he's gonna develop a little more than expected. He put up 30/30 as a first year player in the O.

9. Ethan Werek, C – Kingston Frontenacs (OHL): A highly recruited scoring pivot who played Jr. A with 2008 second-rounder Corey Trivino, Werek’s Ontario League career got off to a spotty start, as did the entire Fronts’ organization this season. But once Doug Gilmour came to town as coach, Werek was unleashed and his stock is bouncing back. Draft eligible in 2009.

OK, now let's grab Avtsyn or Fallstrom in the third and we're good.

A lot of good players still on the board towards the end of the 2nd round! I hope the Rangers move up a bit or add another 3rd rounder some how

AWESOME PICK!

Two months ago I would of been content with Werek being our first round pick. I think this is a real steal for us.

Yeah. Everyone from 15-50 is on somewhat of an equal plane. The draft is that deep and that wide open.

huh...ok

decent size. his wheels are no where near as good as ashton bro. werek is a good gritty player but carter ashton is a way better prospect than this kid

2008-2009 Kingston OHL 66 32 32 64 83

decent numbers at kingston.

actually saw a few kingston games last jan/feb and he scored goals but looked kinda slow to me. we shall see.

i would have perhaps gone elsewhere with pick 2 but with his size and down low scoring he fils a need. needs to work on his quickness tho.

No trades in this round. Teams trading up or down. Nothing.

My thoughts exactly. They will have a pretty potent defense with Green/Orlov.

Hey, I was just wondering how everyone on these boards knows about all of these players. Do you use another website for prospects?

Ugh, don't remind me. If we can re-up Antro it will be worth it, but I think Ryan's gonna be a player.

Some blogs and such hype the hell out of some unknown kids once in a while based on stats.
