loved the David Rundbland pick. was pulling for Moore, Kreider or Schroeder, only because I knew more about them...but the more I find out about Rundbland, the more confident I am that he was the best option on the board at #17 and will be a better NHL'er than many guys taken before him.

The popular belief was Glennie or maybe Kassian. When Kadri went 7th I think we collectivity came a little.

Yep. Tim Erixon was one of the players I liked most that might have been there for the Flames.

****ing thrilled to have Hedman, was so afraid somehow he was gonna get picked or our management was going to trade the pick or choose Duchene instead...

And really happy about the Carter Ashton pick, who was one of three forwards I was really hoping they'd nab once the trade was announced, the other two being Jeremy Morin or Landon Ferraro.

Very happy so far, lets just not **** it up by trading #4!!

Nope.

We picked the one player in the top 10 that I didn't want. Not only that, but we did nothing else outside of drafting Kadri. No trades, no moves for other first rounders, nothing. Pretty much the worst case scenario played out for me.

Not hardly, not even a little. Ellis is a much higher end talent than Koistinen every will be. Not sure why you would say that at all, actually.

I wanted to see us getting some offense, and Kadri can provide that. I'm guessing it was between Cowen and Kadri for the Leafs, and I'm glad we took the forward.

Ellis has Brian Rafalski size, he will be fine. One of the hardest slapshots in the draft too.

I'm torn. I liked Kadri in Kitchener, maybe he will excel under Ron Wilson. He's got great skill, I was expecting Cowen or MPS though. Was hoping they'd get up to get Schenn but I didn't think it would get done.

Was also hoping Kabrle would move for something and a late 1st round pick. I guess I'm a bit dissapointed, at least I can monitor Kadri's progress better than some of the others.

No, absolutely not. For a player they likely could have traded down half a dozen spots and still landed I am still fairly pissed. That's nothing against Paradis, but he's a guy that possibly could have even been had at #51, where the Canes draft in the 2nd, and they take him in the first.

Despite what it may seem on the habs board, yes.

I would have liked Schroeder at the 18th spot, but the team does not have the forward depth to take a chance like that. BPA for the team, but I feel they made a solid pick. If he becomes somewhat like Richards, then it is a great pick. If he turns out like Richards, what a pick.

Ducks came into this day with Pronger and #15. They leave with Lupul, Sbisa, Holland, Palmieri, #37, Phi 1st -10 and possibly a Phi 3rd -10.

I think this was a great day to be a Ducks fan. Even one such as myself who would have tried to keep Pronger if at all possible.

I'm slowly coming around to the OEL pick. I'll probably like it by Monday. I just wanted MPS. Oh well.

Kassian being right there was just too good to pass up.

Very happy with it.

He fell in some team's rankings I guess. Mckenzie's ranking's where he polls 10 NHL scouts had MPS ranked 10 and Kadri at 8 which was an indicator of his slipping.

I'm not happy per se, but I'm not going to cry about it like some will. MPS lack of natural finishing ability was a bit bothersome. I was more expecting Cowen.

By you're logic, Stars fans should be pissed as well and arguably Sens fans to.

I'm going to trust Burkie on this one, but we will see.

I have to think this is Burke not liking any European who does not have a twin brother.♠

Re: Caps and Johansen, I'm not thrilled about an 18 yo Swede who has had three concussions already. I doubt he finds the NHL will take it easy on his delicate pumpkin. If he can survive, he could be a solid #2 C.

Agreed. Kadri is alright but MPS has superstar written all over him. For Burke yapping all week about how he was going to be major player on Friday, he didn''t do a damn thing and didn't even pick the best forward on the board. Same old crap being a Leafs fan.
