Schroeder without a doubt. I am confident that in a few years he will be a clear top-10 player from this crop, maybe even top-5.

At least the sting of the Rangers passing on him is softened by the Kreider selection, who was my number 1 realistic option at 19.

John Tavares, followed closely by Victor Hedman.

In otherwords. Stupid thread.

Schroeder isn't that much of a steal.
Schroeder was ranked in the top 15 in many mock drafts. Canucks got him at 22. That's a differential of 7-10 spots. If Duchene was picked at 10th, that wouldn't be much of a steal either.

Like's been said, nobody can be a steal yet.

The only way you can determine a "steal" right now is if the player slid really far from where he was ranked across a large amount of publications.

But in a few years it's not gonna matter where players were actually ranked, it's gonna matter where they were picked.

Really at this point it's saying whoever your team got or a top 15 guy who went lower than that. Which is silly.

How is this a stupid thread? In previous drafts there is always a steal, it's a simple question, if you dont like it why waste your time and post in it?

He was the BPA at 11 as far as I'm concerned. Well, 9 actually - because I had Glennie and Kadri behind him.

Beauty pick by the Canucks. I would be devastated if we didn't get the guy I had at 6.

Well, we can't confirm that they are. We all have our own opinions on certain players.

I personally feel that it's downright insanity Leddy went 10 full picks ahead of Schroeder.

I agree. I was hoping he'd drop one more spot and Vancouver could've picked him instead. Not that stoked on Shroeder.

Most Canuck haters will detest this thread. Schroeder has already gone from good prospect to garbage because of the team that drafted him. I love it.
In our Defense, Not everybody said he would not be a steal.
And A lot of people saw him dropping, but nobody in hell saw he dropping as far as 22.

In no particular order

MPS
Schroeder
Cowen
Kulikov
Depres

There were quite a few off the wall picks after the Top 5

I don't see how anyone is trashing the Canucks here. Most people are actually saying the opposite because of their pick.

Anyways I don't think we can say who is a steal just yet. We'll come back to this in a couple of years.

Wow we have alot of clueless hockey fans here...

A steal clearly means when a team picks a player that was projected much higher...

Schrouder was that player... rank 5th north american skater by central scouting...Now people here are calling him hobbit.. and stuff... Comon...

All i got to say is this..

THE CANUCKS GOT Jordan Schroeder, AND THEIR'S NOTHING people can do about it! You can call him hobbit, or w/e we got a steal... and Vancouver likes this very very much....

Minnesota enjoy Leddy.

Yet half of the people saying he was the biggest steal are not Canucks fans. Where the hell does the hate come from, I don't get it?

Anyway for me, the steal of the draft based on how good they'll become relative to draft status is 1) John Moore 2) Jordan Schroeder 3) MSP.
