I'm sure the scouts have more reasons why he went in the 5th round, not the first.

And no, Kevin Lowe is not laughing at Burke right now, because he took a goalie in the 5th round that Burke passed on.

FML

damn EDM
FML

We aren't going to trade any players in the offseason too. This whole year = epic fail. No rewards other than watching Luke own people.

I was hoping for a goalie as well.

I think we have Gustavsson locked up. If there's anything Burke learned from being in Anaheim it was the importance of good goaltending.

I have a feeling that the Oilers' scouts rely heavily on information from HFBoards

Haha I can bet none of you guys have even seen this guy play and still you throw a fit. It's like being in a kindergarten classroom with the way some of you guys are reacting (you know who YOU are).

I have never seen this kid play, but he's got some serious size to him so that's a plus. Gonna be interesting to see how some of our picks turn out in a couple of years...

When a team hires you as Professional scout...then I'll take your comments seriously. Until then, you are a whining girl who doesn't know his arse from his elbow.

You are entitled to your opinion, but please stop pretending you are some draft guru. It's annoying.

Great low risk high reward pick. My favourite of the draft so far.

"He's an untapped resource," said Rustin coach Nick Russo. "He's a special player with a great character and impeccable work ethic. I think if he would have played in juniors for one or two years instead of playing in high school, he may have been a second or third rounder. His upside is enormous."

"He's a safe pick," said McGuire. "He doesn't have a huge mean streak, but he doesn't shy away from being physical. He also pinches well from the back end. If he keeps on developing at juniors and eventually the NCAA, he could be a real diamond in the rough."

Guys relax , none of us are scouts and the LEafs scouts are the ones who truely know what the **** they are doing ......

It is just that they are taking players we never heard of/read of or did not like IE Nazem Kadri

Very frustrating to see this happening. Almost seems like a message from Burke "Stop wishing for the tank fans, the draft isn't what you'll want it to be."

I'd have liked to see Bubnick. I think the talent is higher in the CHL, and playing against better competition is always a good thing.

It'll be a goon that we could just easily sign on the UFA market for sure.

They have been one of the worst drafting teams over the past ten or so years. People here think that they are genius' for going for the highest ranked players.

Is it like this every year on draft day? My god...
