Highest Ranked Undrafted Players

So, far, unless I'm missing him, I've got

Danny Mattson, ranked 53rd overall by CSB, as the highest-ranked undrafter player.

Who are some others?

Brodie Melnychuk might be in this category?

Collin Bowman
I'm surprised, but not shocked, that he wasn't drafted. He is not a good skater, by any stretch of the imagination, but I thought for sure a team would take him in the 5th round, or so, based off the fact that he's 6'5", and looks to be evolving into a solid shut-down defender. Looked better in Kelowna's last two Mem Cup games than any other Rocket defencemen (Yes, including Myers), playing physical and not making any mistakes. Might have to take the same road as Rocket teammate Tysen Dowzak, who was passed over in three successive drafts despite his massive size, only to earn an NHL contract with the NY Rangers as a training camp invite last year.

You are bang on with Novotny, way to streaky to be picked this year. Next year he will be a big part of the Rockets offense so if he has a more consistent year he will get a look from someone.

As soon as I didnt see Bowman's name in the draft I immediately kind of wondered why? Stay at home shut down D-man will definately get a try-out somewhere, I think his lack of foot speed may be an issue. He seemed a little flat footed at times during the season.

Unless i'm mistaken Gabriel Lemieux is the highest CSB ranked undrafted.. Danny Mattson is second..

How Danny Mattson goes updrafted is an absolute mystery. His size isn't great but he plays hard every shift, he's an amazing playmaker, and he plays well in his own zone. Already UND committed in 2010.

Brodie Melnychuk doesn't make a whole lot of sense either.

Guys like Kyle Neuber with absolutely no talent what so ever except for fighting is being drafted and these guys are getting passed up...

Neuber is a guy you can invite to camp, to get a guy like Mattson you'd have to draft him, i don't get why teams do that.

You're right, Lemieux was 46 on the CSB list. I thought I'd seen his name on a list, but I was wrong.

Benjamin Conz is the highest ranked player on the Hockey News Rankings who went undrafted. THN had him at #52 overall.

What about some other services highest ranked undrafted players? I don't have the full list for McKeen's, ISS, or RLR.

IMO it's retarded that no one has drafted Myllari or Svedberg. But they will be drafted next year however.

A few of them I'm not really surprised but I am for a lot of the players. It really looked at times that teams were picking players out of a hat.

I'm really surprised with Mattson. I personally had him as the third best player out of MN ahead of Budish. Everson too could have been a good late pick. He can flat out score big goals and you just can't teach that.

TSN doesn't have his name listed, doesn't look like he was picked.

He obviously wasn't a 1st rounder, and isn't listed anywhere in rounds 2-7.

KUCHIN.

He's probably dying to get out of Russia. Why not take this talent and run in the 7th round!? 7th round=take a risk round!

Mattson puzzles me for sure. I'd have taken him in the 4th round for sure.

I was hoping my team would take him just because he was at once considered something. I don't think anyone really got a chance to see him play.

Well, I'm sure all these Russians have been deeply scouted. Simply that nowadays it's too risky to pick up Russian players.
