Imagine that! Someone is on your team so you finally do some research on him then because you're not a drone who knows every player in the draft off the back of their hand before they're even drafted!

I cant believe how far this has gone..The fact that some of you (not everyone) think the Leafs have some sense of entitlement to B. Schenn is ridiculous... ive never seen such a thing before..

It needs to stop now..let us enjoy our new player.. and you enjoy yours.. we both got great players..

Also, stop taking trash about hockey in LA. Yes, its not as prolific as it is in Toronto, thats a given...but the diehard fans here are just as knowledgeable as you guys...i wish hockey was as important as basketball or baseball out here, but thats not reality... we all can live with that..

Stop trying to make your team seem more important... and therefore, have the right to talk this nonsense... its not true... your team might have more history and a bigger fan base, but they are both 1/30 of the NHL...

Who cares? Fans of some teams (and this is not just directed at Leafs) think because their team is in a major market, has more $, etc they are "entitled" to other team's assets. It doesn't work that way, at least not until UFA time.

Leafs aren't getting Schenn or Tavares just becasue they have more money, for example.

It reminds me of the Crosby lottery years ago where some Ranger$ fans assumed the lottery would be rigged because the NHL desperately wanted a star attraction playing in NY.

the leafs are richest according to revenue generated.

http://www.forbes.com/lists/2008/31/...ions_Rank.html

Most companies rely on previous years revenue to supply the current years expenditures. Based on this logic, the leafs are richer. Also, the kings debt/value ratio is much higher than the leafs. That looks a little strange considering the supposed value of AEG, as quoted above, is 8 billion dollars. One would think a company of that worth would be able to contain debt better.

Well, the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan, which owns the Leafs, is valued at over 100 Billion. They earn about 5 billion per year. None of which means anything to the hockey club, but the same goes for AEG as an ownership group. Suggesting that there's more money behind the Kings than there is behind the Leafs is sort of silly.

this thread should be closed by now, I love how every conversation involving the kings pretty much always strays off topic about how LA is a bad hockey market with no fans. It gets old, maybe some of the less than informed bashers should make a trip to LA to see a couple games and meet some fans before they throw stuff like that out there.

King's fans had an idea DL was targeting Schenn all along. Take a look at some of the mock drafts that have Schenn there at 7 for Toronto. Inevitably you will see a King's fan posting in the link saying that Schenn will be a King. In other words, DL in no way drafted him out of spite.

As for Burke's reaction, let's just say that I am sure Kadri has seen it and it would be crappy to have to know your GM was really unhappy and may have picked you out of spite.

It was a very childish move on Burke's part.
Sorry, but IMO Burke was not interested in swapping picks. He wanted to pick at 4/5 and at 7. Burke really wanted Schenn (just like DL) and was frustrated that neither Atlanta or LA would deal with him.

This was probably because he was trying to get the pick outright (from both teams). IMO, either the Kings did not want what the Leafs were offering, or the Leafs did not want to give up what LA wanted. End of story.....

You personally involved yourself in this last volley of conversation and now your saying the conversation that you made yourself a part of is pointless??

That really kills your credibility I think.

It's time for Braydon Schenn to get a restraining order against Toronto. Seriously this is really unhealthy....

Dude, Leaf fans and city of Toronto get bashed by other fanbases relentlessly on these boards everyday, so you get no sympathy from us regarding this.

And FYI, no Leaf fan (or in this thread at least) was bashing the city of LA , just certain Kings fan that balk at the notion of an excellent puck moving 50 to 60 pt D-man signed to a cap-friendly contract in Kaberle is worth a bag of peanuts to them, get real. If anything, I WANT a healthy and viable hockey team in LA as it would certainly not only strengthen the league but it would also further the growth of the game in the Southern U.S.

Hopefully this happens, or at very least, eclipse the lowly LA Clippers in popularity down there.

In LA its a very simple formula - win and you get popular. It doesn't matter what sport - just start winning! Celebs show up to games, sponsorships, commercials, before you know it, the Kings can spend up to the cap, and once that starts happening, you start seeing more Jon Blums and Noah Clarkes
